In a jungle, a marathon race was organized, and all kinds of animals—big and small, fat and thin, fast and slow—participated. Those who didn’t participate aligned themselves along the track, not to cheer, but to see if the participants could finish the race. They were convinced it was impossible. The spectators loudly doubted the participants, declaring the track too difficult. As the race progressed and the challenges of rivers, forests, hills, valleys, and mountains loomed, many participants gave up by the halfway mark. The negative chatter from the audience only grew louder, predicting that no one could complete the course. However, a few participants pressed on. Eventually, all but one little animal gave up. This little rat continued to the finish line. When he crossed it, the media, reporters, and cameras rushed to him, asking how he managed to complete the race when no one else could. He didn’t respond. They kept asking, but he remained silent. Finally, the media realized that the little rat was deaf. He couldn’t hear any of the negativity around him. Unaware of the doubts and the supposed impossibility of the task, he simply ran the race and completed it. The moral of the story is clear: in life, when surrounded by negativity and doubt, just run deaf. Ignore the naysayers and press on.
