Tips to support people with learning disability at work: ☑ Develop a glossary of technical terms and acronyms used in the workplace ☑ Include visual elements, such as pictures and diagrams, along with written information ☑ Provide important information, such as procedure manuals, in both written and audio formats ☑ Use alternative communication styles. For example, demonstrate the instructions, including the 'do’s and don'ts' ☑ Provide assistive software designed to assist in reading, comprehension skill development and writing ☑ Provide specialised training to improve the employee’s written expression skills.
