Big News for the NDIS! The NDIS registration task force has released its report, recommending a tiered registration system for providers and workers. This system aims to improve safety and quality in the NDIS while still giving participants choice and control. Here's what it means for you: - A tiered system means registration requirements will depend on the type of support you receive. - Increased safety with worker screening and a focus on quality providers. - More choice and control with different tiers catering to your needs. What's next? The government will consider the report and finalise details like registration costs. Good Shepherd Support Services is here to help! We're committed to providing high-quality support to NDIS participants. Stay tuned for updates on how these changes might affect you, and feel free to DM us with any questions. #NDIS #NDISReform #Registration #ChoiceAndControl #DisabilitySupport #NDISnews

The NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission has finally published a Consultation Paper on the mandatory registration of Support Coordination providers within the NDIS. The consultation period is open until March 2025 to make online submissions, with Practice Standards scheduled to be developed through co-design with stakeholders from Q1 through to Q5 2025. The transition period is noted to be no earlier than July 2025, with a suggested 3 months to complete a registration application and 12 months from registration date to gain audit certification. It is being proposed that all levels of Support Coordination (Levels 1 to 3) are merged into a single support category under Registration Group 0132. This will include specific conditions around registration requirements and minimum skills required for each role. The Commission is seeking feedback on the impacts of these proposed changes on NDIS participants and providers, including transition arrangements and timeframes for registration and audits and support needed for Support Coordination providers to adapt to these changes. It is vital you make the time to have your say! Visit the NDIS Commission Reform Hub to access the consultation paper and submit your feedback.

☝️👉🏾Recommend any unregistered SIL or Support Coordination providers have a read of the latest NDIS Commission's Consultation papers which provide further details on suggested registration requirements and transition times. https://lnkd.in/gJhhki6K Basically for both unregistered SIL and SC providers, it is suggested that they: · ✔️Must submit a registration application within three months from implementation date (unclear when this will be) · ✔️Must demonstrate compliance with the Core Module within 12 months of registration application through a certification audit ☝️The clear message this represents is to start planning for registration NOW!🫵 #ndisregistration
