Salespeople… It’s 𝐉𝐮𝐧𝐞. We all know what that means – 𝐥𝐨𝐭𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐧𝐨-𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐰𝐬! Here are some quick tips to avoid them: 𝑺𝒄𝒉𝒆𝒅𝒖𝒍𝒆 𝑴𝒊𝒅𝒘𝒆𝒆𝒌: Opt for Tuesday-Thursday to dodge “summer Fridays” and vacations. 𝑶𝒑𝒕𝒊𝒎𝒂𝒍 𝑻𝒊𝒎𝒊𝒏𝒈: Book meetings between 12-3pm in your prospect's time zone for better attendance. 𝑨𝒄𝒕 𝑭𝒂𝒔𝒕: Push for ASAP. A conversation is freshest when booked sooner, even the same day. 𝑬𝒏𝒈𝒂𝒈𝒆 𝒐𝒏 𝑳𝒊𝒏𝒌𝒆𝒅𝑰𝒏: Comment on their posts. It’s a subtle reminder and shows you’re engaged. 𝑫𝒂𝒚-𝒐𝒇 𝑪𝒐𝒏𝒇𝒊𝒓𝒎𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏: Confirm without sounding desperate. Try, “Excited for our chat today, John. 6 months ago I started putting time aside to self reflect. This is something I do daily and it’s a non negotiable for me. I am someone who struggles to celebrate the small wins, as i’m constantly seeking more and my harshest critic. Especially now more then ever with the start of my company and working remotely it is crucial I spend this time celebrating the small achievements I make daily and being one step closer to the ultimate goal of growing Rec Gen to be a household name for Exec search and sales recruitment. Sales is hard, stressful and out right demoralising at some points, but even just picking up that phone daily it’s getting you one step closer to those ambitions and life changing deals / commissions. #recgenrocket #goals #motivation

Today in a new hire session, I spoke about the importance of practice in overcoming objections, particularly when dealing with competitors. I highlighted that relying solely on phone practice with vendors is not enough for our growth. Practice is optional, just like success. This phrase has resonated with me since I started in sales in 2017 at Main Street Hub. I embraced it daily, putting in extra effort by practicing my rebuttals extensively (especially on my walk from the free SoCo parking to our downtown office) and recording myself (cringe) going through my rebuttals. Improving our skills is a choice, and it's these optional efforts that differentiate good from great. Reflecting on this, I encourage you to consider: What optional step will you take today to be 1% better than yesterday? ✨
