It took 3+ months from a Partner saying "let's get you into the firm" to me actually starting at EY Thankfully I didn't leave my previous role until I had a start date (very important) My first post-military job? Took ~1.5 months to start from the moment the CEO said "I'm going to create a role for you" It seemed like FOREVER but... 1 - Recruiting had to build the req 2 - I had to interview with other C-Suite Leaders 3 - HR had to send me the official offer letter 4 - And schedule my onboarding And they didn't just drop everything to take care of just me That was a business with <500 people #quinnsights HireMilitary What's the point? Time moves differently for the job seeker The recruiters, hiring manager, HR team and everyone else involved in the hiring process... Have a full-time job (even the recruiters have a bunch of other reqs with 100+ candidates) Personal life (we all have our own life challenges) And there are a lot more "factors in the equation" than just you (more factors/time come as company sizes increase) #militarytransition Nobody is like "lets deliberately blow off this person that wants a job" But life happens So always ask for next steps and timelines And politely follow-up when that time has been exceeded

🤔How are you viewing job descriptions, #companysecretaries?🤔 👀👀Take a look at this short video where I'm discussing the notion that you don't necessarily need to ✅tick all of the boxes to be considered. There is often flexibility from a hiring point of view and you may just need to brush up on some of the items listed e.g. transactional/stat compliance work or board support work etc. Roles with 'manager' in the title don't necessarily indicate this skill is a pre-requisite. In fact, if you have some solid experience, especially sector specific experience, and you want to advance your career, there may be many roles out there for you that are worth a look and for which you can generate interest. The number of times we find roles are tweaked or adapted to suit that candidate is high! Plus, this mindset could facilitate a number of interesting conversations with some influential people to get your name out there! ➡️So, if you can provide some good overall value to a team and you're keen on that role or firm, then don't be shy, and get those conversations going, I'd say! Some fool people send fake emails for recruitment and use the names of big reputed companies like Amazon , Deloitte, JP morgan and much more. (By creating different custom Gmail accounts of their names) I have received some emails like this. More Example: ❌After approaching them, they ask to pay some amount for direct joining ❌They give 100% suriy. You will receive an offer Letter after payment But here's the thing : - Who is all this, what's their identity? - Where's the official email id? - Why they are referring us without applying for specific role? - How can Hr of reputed company can do this? Job seekers like me, We shouldn't let them play with our emotions 🙌🏻
