In 2024, 91% of Australian employers are using skills-based hiring, leading globally in the adoption of this method. This approach, which prioritises candidates' skills over traditional qualifications, has been found to reduce mis-hires, lower hiring costs, improve diversity, and increase retention. A majority of job candidates also favor this method, with 68% preferring it over traditional hiring processes.
