Operation Safe Driver Week is underway, and we are halfway through! Each summer the Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance (CVSA) dedicates a week to driver-safety traffic enforcement. This year, from July 7-13th drivers exhibiting unsafe driving behaviors, such as speeding, distracted driving, aggressive driving, following too closely, etc., will be pulled over by law enforcement and may be issued a warning or citation. Operation Safe Driver Week aims to improve the driving behaviors of passenger vehicle drivers and commercial motor vehicle drivers through educational and traffic enforcement strategies and interactions with law enforcement. The goal of this is to prevent crashes caused by unsafe driving behaviors. At Pace, we are continously holding driver trainings, safety meetings, and checking driver footage to ensure our drivers are following the rules of the road at all times.

It’s important to remember inspections should not just happen during next month’s Roadcheck event but throughout the year. While the inspections conducted during Roadcheck scrutinize all safety and compliance aspects of equipment and drivers, this year there will be two specific areas of concentration that you need to be aware of for your drivers on the road.
