With June coming to a close, we'll share a few highlights from Pride at Joby this year: Joby team members and their families marched in the Santa Cruz Pride Parade, showcasing the diversity and acceptance that sits at the heart of our culture. Thank you to our Joby Pride employee group for organizing our march and booth, and creating space for us to celebrate our vibrant community. Joby's Zachary Ontiveros presented on more than 100 years of LGBT history in the United States, educating the company on the culture and struggles of the community. And in April, Joby team members volunteered with the San Francisco AIDS Foundation, packing 500 hygiene kits to be distributed across the Bay Area.

I think there’s a misconception that DEI programs are only for Black people and the LGBT+ community. They are not. DEI programs support women. DEI programs support people with disabilities. DEI programs support veterans. DEI programs support people from underprivileged socioeconomic backgrounds. DEI programs support religious beliefs and interfaith engagement. DEI programs support parents. DEI programs support age-specific groups. DEI programs aren’t designed to make people feel bad for growing up with certain advantages. These programs exist to ensure everyone has an opportunity to participate regardless of the advantages they may or may not have. They serve more people than you might realize.

Celebrate LGBT+ History Month with inclusive classrooms all year round! As we enter LGBT+ History Month, it's the perfect time to reflect on how we can foster true belonging for all students in our schools. While dedicated lessons and displays are valuable, sustainable inclusion requires cross-curricular integration throughout the year. This insightful article by Mel Lane in Schools Week offers two little approaches that can have a big impact: drop-ins, and visibility. 🔗https://lnkd.in/eT-fvR4Q

🌈 Pride Month! 🌈 As we enter week #2 of Pride Month, I wanted to share some ways we can show our support and celebrate! 1. Educate Yourself and Others: Understanding the history and significance of Pride is crucial. Take time to learn about key milestones in the LGBTQ+ rights movement, such as the Stonewall Riots of 1969, and educate others to foster a more inclusive society. 2. Create Inclusive Spaces: Whether at work or in your community, strive to create environments where everyone feels safe and respected. Implement policies that support diversity and inclusion and ensure that LGBTQ+ voices are heard and valued. 3. Attend Pride Events: Many cities host parades, workshops, and other events during Pride Month. Participating in these events is a great way to show solidarity and celebrate the diversity within the LGBTQ+ community. 4. Share Your Support: Use social media platforms to show your support for Pride Month. Share educational resources, inspirational stories, and messages of solidarity to spread awareness and encourage others to do the same. Happy Pride Month! 🏳️🌈
