From vaccinations to vital conversation, we have covered them all. We recognised that education is the foundation of health, which encompasses treatment, prevention, and spreading awareness.    Hence, we came up with ”Student Health Care Camps” and started conversations among students, teachers, and our team on crucial topics.    Our medical camps were more than check-ups; they were a testament to our commitment to healthcare and hygiene.    We provided comprehensive health check-ups, vital vaccinations, and stored health data for each student.    Also, discussed on vital topics like mental well-being, support systems, and breaking the stigma surroundings with students, teachers and staffs.     These conversations were steps towards a healthier, more informed, and safer community.    It’s about the well-being of 543 students, the transformation of 5 schools, and the nurturing of 5 villages.    We are building a future where every member of the community is aware and empowered to make healthy choices. #healthandwellness #studentmedicalcamps #nurturing #traceablegiving

"The winter period can see an increase in some of the common seasonal viruses which disrupt children's education and cause more serious illnesses" Hmmm ... "Children should stay at home from school or nursery if they have a high temperature (fever) and are unwell, and wait until it has passed before going back." Hmmm ... "... if they have a runny nose, sore throat or slight cough - without a high temperature - children are encouraged to go to school, nursery or childcare." Hmmm ... "There is a "quick and painless" nasal spray for children which offers the best protection against flu, UKHSA says." Offers the best protection, well it is the only measure on offer, isn't it, so not much competition, or is there ... "However, it says vaccine uptake among pre-school children is lower than other groups, despite the illness sometimes being more serious for this age group." Is that so, in comparison to which groups, the over 80's for instance ... "There has also been a drop in uptake of other childhood vaccinations, which protect against diseases such as measles, mumps, rubella, diphtheria and polio." Makes you wonder, many are given in combination, some illnesses you could well believe are more important to be protected against than others. Does uncertainty about the need to reduce symptoms of things less of a risk, result in missing out on having something that may well be more important to have. Thinking on that a little further, could that be why they have been lumped together in the first place, to ensure uptake, there is an interesting hypothesis to consider ... There does appear to be a trend across many sectors to lump things together at certain times, in the cycle of ongoing interest. Often it appears to be due to the need for maintaining support for some areas that maybe less productive, not so vital. Celebrating Preparedness! A Winter Readiness Reminder ❄   As we gear up for the colder months, it's crucial to recognise the impending challenges many NHS Trusts will face. Dr Charlotte Canniff, Joint Chief Medical Officer at Surrey Heartlands Health and Care Partnership offers vital public advice for the upcoming season. Including prioritising vaccinations for flu and Covid, managing prescriptions, liaising with pharmacies, and engaging with #NHS111.   Simultaneously, addressing healthcare system backlogs remains crucial. The Surgical Consortium supports NHS Trusts by ensuring thousands of patients access the care they need, both admitted and non-admitted. Our approach involves adapting patient pathways to avoid the requirement for overnight stays, as well as leveraging weekend theatres, See and Treat clinics, and streamlining administrative processes for lasting #efficiency gains. The crux of a well-functioning NHS this winter lies in efficiently managing and clearing these backlogs of appointments and surgeries. **Sharing on behalf of Will Funk**: Northern Raccoon Rehabilitation and Disease in North America: After communicating with rehabbers around the United States, it appears that disease outbreaks are increasing in raccoons in rehabilitation despite preventative measures including vaccinations and quarantine periods. Due to this perceived increase of outbreaks, I am conducting a North American survey (including Canada, United States, Mexico) looking at raccoon husbandry and disease outbreak trends in rehabilitation for both large centers and home-based rehabilitators.
