Sustainable construction is emerging as a key growth area, with the global green building market projected to reach $394.4 billion by 2028, growing at 9.73% annually. This shift towards sustainability is not just an environmental imperative but also an economic opportunity, despite the initial complexity in implementation. The construction industry currently consumes 36% of the world's energy and contributes 39% of global carbon emissions, including both operational and embodied carbon. According to Dodge Construction Network, over 90% of engineering and construction companies in the U.S. report that clients are demanding reduced embodied carbon in their projects. Adopting sustainable practices, such as using renewable materials, incorporating water-efficient designs, and reducing construction waste, is becoming more practical. These practices not only reduce a project's environmental footprint but also offer long-term benefits like lower operational costs and enhanced project reputation. Moreover, sustainability is a job creator—generating over $134.3 billion in labour income in the U.S. alone, according to the U.S. Green Building Council. As climate change continues to reshape our world, implementing low-carbon solutions in both new builds and retrofits is crucial for the construction industry's future success. The construction industry is facing exciting challenges – and even greater opportunities. As one of the most important levers for a successful climate transition, we can set the course for a sustainable future together. This can be achieved by developing innovative ideas and focusing on digital technologies. This is what makes the industry so special: its ability to actively shape change. 🌱 On 27 November, FORUM:BAU offers the perfect opportunity to gather fresh ideas for the future of construction. Experts from business, research, and politics will meet to discuss sustainable construction methods and innovative approaches. 🏗️ Even though we will not be there in person, the topics addressed at the event are central to our work. Through our measures, we are taking concrete steps to make the construction industry more climate-friendly and to promote sustainable solutions. 💡 🌿 We do everything we can to minimise our ecological footprint: We only use green electricity, focus on short and low-emission delivery routes, promote the recycling of our products and support sustainable mobility and renewable energies - both within the company and among our employees. 🌍 ♻️ You can find out more about our contribution to sustainability here 👇 https://lnkd.in/e7dBaUbH KrampeHarex Know Why. #KrampeHarex #Sustainability #FutureOfConstruction
