Microsoft is sharing out some of their work using AI to generate hyper-realistic talking face videos from a single image, audio clip, and text script. This is amazing technology and really demonstrates how rapid generative AI is advancing. Of course, there are lots of concerns and discussions about responsible use. We’re very close to not knowing what is real vs #AI #generativeai with #microsoft VASA-1. With one photo you can produce a deepfake video to say anything, with any expression or emotion. The videos showing this capability within this Microsoft research paper are simply amazing and very concerning - but not unexpected. Innovative authentication methods are going to become more important than ever going forward.
