P-saico is a project developed Marialaura Rossiello Irvine based on the material and modularity concept of Sticks. It consists of 10×30 mm stick fragments – 6 mm thick – mounted on fiber glass mesh in irregular patterns to create 315×320 mm modules. The way the modules are composed and the grouting generate a contemporary version of Venetian Seminato. P-saico is a semi-artisanal product, with unique aesthetic connotations: differences in surface flatness and tone variations are intrinsic characteristics of the product and, if enhanced during installation, they enhance the exceptional aesthetics of this collection. https://lnkd.in/dJD-vuug

Never underestimate the great power of #visualisation - the #Designers work with the meter or roll price of what you eventually get.... Because every #designer has already seen every design they conceive sit (draped) on your #chair, #sofa, #bench, #stool, the #headboard and or #accessories. For their efforts to create and showcase something new the #designer has to think ahead and on visualising - creating their art-work is just 25% of their work. 75% effort is to get their design transferred into successful products. Without getting into #technicality of the whole process they work on the #size of design, #repeat of pattern and its #color pallet. The precise movement of the #jacquard #shaft in the video is part of the 75% of all the hard work our dear friend has invested in. In a world of mass production, I take great delight in things made by hand and perfected by the artisan through skill and experience. That brought me to wonder about Art Deco and how it was used in Architectural design. I think the point was to create exclusivity by using talented craftsmen who could create unique pieces. To a great extent, Art Deco is epitomized by the works that were shown at the Exposition Internationale des Arts Décoratifs et Industriels Modernes (International Exhibition of Modern and Industrial Decorative Arts), held in Paris in 1925. One example of a building facade is the Eastern Columbia Building. Have a stellar week ahead:))
