This week is Loneliness Awareness Week. Did you know that two thirds of young people in the UK don’t feel equipped to deal with loneliness? If left unchecked, it can lead to mental health issues. That’s why the NSPCC offers Building Connections, an online service for young people up to the age of 19, empowering them to find a way through loneliness. Over 11 sessions, young people will work with a trained befriender to build skills to manage loneliness, build resilience, and boost confidence and self-esteem. What advice would you give to men uncomfortable talking about their Health and Wellbeing? Silence is the most dangerous thing that has ever happened to men’s health. Talking is one of the best ways we can combat it. When we talk about the things we silently struggle with, we take victorious steps. What advice would you give to a man who is struggling with Mental health? It is never too late to speak up, be brave, be vulnerable. What advice would you give yourself during this Men’s Health Awareness month? There are more people struggling with the same issues as I am. All I need do is to look for those who have come or are coming through for help.

During Men's Health Week, it's important to understand how to spot the signs of mental health struggles. If a man in your life is becoming easily irritated or short-tempered, it could be a sign that something is bothering him. Offer a listening ear and let him know you're there to support him. Men might withdraw from social activities and close relationships when facing mental health challenges. Encourage open conversations and reach out to let them know you're available for support. Men need time and space to feel relaxed and build trust in their doctor to discuss health concerns openly.
