"As more companies offer benefits emphasizing the importance of empathy, particularly during personal crises and major life transitions, the landscape of workplace benefits is evolving. Integrating empathy into their non-traditional benefits is more than a kind gesture for these employers—it's a strategic investment." -Christine Michel Carter, Senior Contributor to Forbes We hear this feedback all the time from employers who love PERKY Leave, particularly how it's a resource for those expecting parents that are still keeping their secret, but looking to plan out their leave! #employeeempathy #familybondingleave #strategicemployers

Independent Corporate Wellbeing Consultant. Get the right wellbeing strategy for your business, close the wellbeing gap and improve ROI!
I recently came across an article that inspired me to have a conversation with my 17 1/2-year-old son about his expectations from future employers. 🌍 It’s clear that the world is evolving, and so are the priorities of the next generation. I asked him, “What do you expect from an employer for doing your job?” His response was eye-opening and offers valuable insights for businesses and organizations aiming to attract and retain young talent. 💡 He mentioned that he expects: A wellbeing package separate from rewards 🧘♂️ A good level of pay to live a comfortable life 💰 Hybrid working options 🏠🏢 Support and understanding for mental health in the workplace 🧠💖 These expectations might resonate with the values I’ve always held, especially regarding mental health. I encourage you to ask your teenage children or those yet to enter the workforce the same question and share their responses. 📢 While money is important, the next generation values a holistic approach to work-life balance. They want to live, not just work. Let’s listen to them and shape the future of work together. 🌟 #FutureOfWork #EmployeeExpectations #MentalHealthMatters #WorkLifeBalance #NextGenWorkers https://lnkd.in/ePT5EKhm Nicole Martin FCIM Chartered Marketer Nicola Kleinmann Elaine Stratford Ben Grey April Twentyman Nick Friend Rebecca Gardner Leanne Miller Phillipa Nicholson Dave Swis

Spoiler alert: every initiative in this Forbes article adds stress rather than directly addressing cultural pain points. Engagement activities, breakout calendars, a culture committee? Fine - but keep it on the clock, and factor it into employees' workload. ➡ Or better yet, start by implementing research-backed structural changes that will make a more immediate, significant difference (the #4dayworkweek, hybrid schedule, meeting-free days, mandatory PTO, childcare support, sufficient #parentalleave, no cost professional development opportunities...) https://lnkd.in/gZ_qgwRs #workplaceculture #culture #companyculture #culturefit

I have realised there is a lot of joy that comes with having "Time" for yourself. Out there are employers who want to employ you, fully control you because they think they pay you "fairly well" Most employees are currently not looking at climbing the coorporate ladders, but looking at making the most amount of money working by the least of hours possible so that they create majority of time to spend with family, on personal development, traveling etc. Nobody wants burnout, a wholesome lostness or spiralling in a humdrum job, depleting oneself with no back up plan, unaware of their personal welfare. Nobody delights in misery.Let's make our workspaces habitable, culturally likeable, connected and appropriately rewarding. Remember, Culture is not aspirational,(what we think or say).Culture is transactional (What we do).
