The Man Building Africa In the words of 45th President of the United States, we need to bring back manufacturing jobs to America. In the actions of the President/CE of Dangote Industries Limited, we need to build African continent by creating jobs on the African soil. Today, no African has invested in the development of African economy beyond Alhaji Aliko Dangote. From building the largets cement manufacturing plant in the sub-Saharan Africa to expanding the investment portfolio in the manufacturing sector beyond the shores of Nigeria to a land locked city of Ndola while stretching to the coastal city of Mtwara. It’s cement business with a staggering revenue of over N2.2trn while selling over 27 million tones of cement - imagine if this was imported from outside Africa! Indeed in success comes even more successes, after failing to buy off a moribund refinery from the Nigerian government, today the business has launched the world’s largest single line refinery at an unbelievable investment of $20Billion, who would have done this for you if not your very own with a heart built with Gold. Yes! We understand your frustrations on struggles to fully take products to the market from the refinery due to political invisible hands and other forces, we feel your pain and indeed we are pained, for we need this more than YOU! I am sure Dangote Industries Limited and re-investment of profits in Africa are now synonymous, we hope to see that giant stride resurface in no distant future, though not in steel, but in totally another area not thought of yet! While we have “Men who built America” (JP Morgan, Andrew Carnegie, JD Rockefeller, C Vanderbilt and Henry Ford) - Alhaji Aliko Dangote will be remembered more as the man who built Africa. Go on boss!
