🌟 Why is Dangote backing out of his future steel investment plan? 🌟 Dangote Industries Limited, led by Africa’s richest man, Aliko Dangote, is shifting gears. Despite successfully launching the 650,000 barrel per day refinery in May 2023, Dangote has decided to step back from local steel production. 🏭 While attending the Afreximbank Afro-Caribbean Trade & Investment Forum in The Bahamas, Dangote mentioned his vision to fully equip Nigeria for Industry 4.0. Yet, he now encourages other notable entrepreneurs to take on transforming the steel industry. 💡 📍Read the full article for more insights: https://lnkd.in/dnBV5Mef #Dangote #SteelIndustry #Nigeria #Investment #Industry40 #BusinessNews #MeizaNigeria

The Man Building Africa In the words of 45th President of the United States, we need to bring back manufacturing jobs to America. In the actions of the President/CE of Dangote Industries Limited, we need to build African continent by creating jobs on the African soil. Today, no African has invested in the development of African economy beyond Alhaji Aliko Dangote. From building the largets cement manufacturing plant in the sub-Saharan Africa to expanding the investment portfolio in the manufacturing sector beyond the shores of Nigeria to a land locked city of Ndola while stretching to the coastal city of Mtwara. It’s cement business with a staggering revenue of over N2.2trn while selling over 27 million tones of cement - imagine if this was imported from outside Africa! Indeed in success comes even more successes, after failing to buy off a moribund refinery from the Nigerian government, today the business has launched the world’s largest single line refinery at an unbelievable investment of $20Billion, who would have done this for you if not your very own with a heart built with Gold. Yes! We understand your frustrations on struggles to fully take products to the market from the refinery due to political invisible hands and other forces, we feel your pain and indeed we are pained, for we need this more than YOU! I am sure Dangote Industries Limited and re-investment of profits in Africa are now synonymous, we hope to see that giant stride resurface in no distant future, though not in steel, but in totally another area not thought of yet! While we have “Men who built America” (JP Morgan, Andrew Carnegie, JD Rockefeller, C Vanderbilt and Henry Ford) - Alhaji Aliko Dangote will be remembered more as the man who built Africa. Go on boss! DANGOTE is into CEMENT, FMCG, OIL and now STEEL 🙄 ELECTRICITY might be next.....🤔 Congratulations is all I can say to DANGOTE Group. Tireless, Relentless..... AI Engineer (Industrial & Production Focus) | Project Management | Infrastructure Optimization | BI Solutions
the three major pillars of industrialization.. steel, petrochemical and power.... when we are able to boast of these three major asset.. the next phase is re-engineering.. that takes form automatically.... God bless Dangote...
“We want to make sure every single steel that we use will come from Nigeria,” Aliko Dangote. Nigeria: Dangote is going into steel. The wailers will not match him on productivity, but as soon as he begins to deliver alpha, the noisemakers, siddon-think-talkers and siddon-think-tankers will start saying “Dangote gets help from the government”. I want to commend Alhaji for his services to Nigeria. From food to cement to...to refinery to steel, and when he is done with steel, he will come for electricity. Today, he generates about 50% of Nigeria’s total electricity capacity for the Group. This means the expertise is already in-house. Good People, it takes the killing of one leopard to be called a killer of leopards, the elders will say. Dangote has killed many leopards, and ALL Nigerians must commend this man. I do not even understand how he gets the motivation and energy to keep building considering what he has accomplished. Dangote Steel - to power the pillars and beams for industrialized Nigeria. Congratulations for the NEW vision. More here https://lnkd.in/e8_mPmar

New piece for The Africa Report: At the just ended African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank) annual meetings in Nassau, Bahamas, I wrote this one on Africa’s richest man Aliko Dangote who revealed plans to start steel production to feed West Africa. “I told somebody we are not going to take any break. What we are trying to do is to make sure, at least in West Africa, we want to make sure that every single steel that we use will come from Nigeria.” https://lnkd.in/ecy7axh3

Africa's economy has long been referred to as a "monkey economy," but that might be about to change. Aliko Dangote, Africa's richest man, has built a refinery in Nigeria with a capacity of 650,000 barrels per day, which could potentially disrupt the European oil market. This could result in Europe losing $17 billion in revenue each year. Nigeria's energy independence is closer than ever as the Dangote refinery accelerates towards full production. This development could be a game-changer for Africa's economy. #Africa #Economy #OilMarket #DangoteRefinery #EnergyIndependence
