Sparrows Capital Limited is delighted to see our SCore Market Equity Only portfolio ranked #3 out of 261 adventurous MPS portfolios by Defaqto over three years.   The portfolio produced 27.22% over the period, an outperformance of 17.03% versus the peer average.   Nine out of the top ten portfolios in the Defaqto universe are passively managed. Active offerings produced an alarming dispersion of results, with home bias a recurring driver of underperformance. Some 10% of propositions actually contrived to produce losses over the three years. It is also noteworthy that the average costs of the top ten performers is 65% below the average of the peer group.    There's more good news for SCore investors, as we reduced the portfolio costs last month, and total costs now stand at just 0.21% (DFM fee 0.10%, Portfolio OCF 0.09% and transaction costs 0.02%) - and that's before taking account of our £20/month cap on the DFM fee. While past performance is not a reliable guide to future returns, it is reasonable to expect market tracking MPS solutions to continue to deliver the broad market return (less a small element of cost) over time.

Sparrows Capital Limited Capital bolsters MPS business with senior hire from 7IM. Arnie Millington joins Sparrows from 7IM where he worked as a business development manager, managing and building relationships with advisers and financial planners from the Midlands and North West. Yariv Haim, CEO at Sparrows Capital, said Millington's hiring marks a "key appointment" for the company. "Millington has broad experience in the financial advice market and a solutions-oriented, consultative approach to business development, and will be a great addition to the team." The appointment will help Sparrows expand its innovative MPS business.
