Normally everything I post is about the amazing BeerBoard solutions and partners. More on that in further posts, today this is about something even bigger. What I want to highlight is regarding my son Jed Boyle who has a degree from Le Moyne College with a double major of finance & analytics and is now earning his Masters at St. John's University, The Peter J. Tobin College of Business in Enterprise Risk Management. He manages all this while being a CLOSER on the baseball team, pitching in the mid-90's mph getting put into the highest stress situations and loving it with amazing team leading stats in ERA (2.40), WHIP (0.93), OPPONENTS BATTING AVG (.137) 2 Wins, 4 Saves but I am not here to talk about that either. I am here to note that Tuesday was Senior Night at St. John's. Jed is not a senior, nor is it his last year of eligibility. He is a 1st of 2 year grad student with eligibility left for next year. That said, we just found out 3 days ago that he would be part of the ceremony. My wife & I in Syracuse couldn't go so Jed's sisters Natalie Boyle and Quinn Boyle who work in fashion in Manhattan did. Even though Jed closed with a great 1, 2, 3 inning throwing in the 90s - I seriously don't care (THIS TIME). What I DO care about is Jed took the opportunity of our not being there to ask a very special and loyal fan Brandon who goes to the games alone and cheers regardless of others joining (Jed does join Brandon's "Let's Go Johnnies" chants when Jed is in the dugout) to join in the senior ceremony on field before the game as a part of Jed's family. Top that off is the player parents and SJU coaches got Brandon a real SJU jersey TO KEEP!! Brandon brings a smile to my face every time I see or think about him - look at the photos. Everything about Brandon and Jed having him as family is freaking adorable and the type of story that I like!!! So when you wonder about how successful your kids will be - I am not worried. Jed and all my kids excel at what they do but they also have their priorities in the right place. Now if we could just get Jed some actual NIL DEALS!!!!! Just kidding . . . kind of . . .
