A trainee accountant joined the headquarters of a large firm. He was a graduate from a famous university. On his first day he dialed the canteen and shouted into the phone, "Get me some coffee, quick!" The voice from the other end responded "You fool; you've dialled the wrong extension! Do you know who you are talking to?" "No," replied the trainee accountant. "It's the Managing Partner, you fool!" the voice shouted back. The trainee did some quick thinking and asked forcefully, "And do you know who YOU are talking to, you fool?" "No," replied the Managing Partner. "Good," said the trainee as he hung up.

Accountancy is a career where success doesn't depend on heading off to university; becoming an accountancy apprentice is a real alternative. #Ensors #apprenticeships #trainee

Striking the perfect balance between work, life, and study as an audit trainee is key to success! 💼 Here are some strategies I've found helpful: 1️⃣ Prioritize tasks: Focus on high-impact tasks first to manage your workload efficiently. 2️⃣ Schedule study time: Block out dedicated study sessions in your calendar to stay on top of coursework. 3️⃣ Set boundaries: Communicate your availability to colleagues and supervisors to ensure you have time for personal commitments. 4️⃣ Practice self-care: Make time for activities that recharge you mentally and physically. 5️⃣ Stay organized: Keep track of deadlines and commitments to avoid feeling overwhelmed. Remember, finding balance is an ongoing journey, but with dedication and planning, you can excel in both your professional and personal pursuits! #WorkLifeStudyBalance #AuditTrainee #CareerSuccess 📚💼✨

#JustMyOpinion The company’s recruitment of interns and fresh graduates through a management trainee program: Gap Between Experience and Role Expectations As someone with over 12 years of experience in accounting and finance, I understand the critical role that experienced staff play in ensuring the stability and accuracy of a company's financial operations. However, when a company recruits a significant number of interns or fresh graduates through a management trainee program, there is concern that their lack of practical experience may affect the quality of work and the overall team’s effectiveness. While fresh ideas and enthusiasm from trainees are valuable, they often require extensive guidance to avoid errors in important tasks such as financial reporting and taxation, which must always be accurate. Solution: I would like to suggest balancing junior and senior hires. One option is for the company to establish a mentorship program, where experienced staff guide trainees, allowing them to learn without disrupting day-to-day operations. Shifting Responsibilities to Senior Staff In many cases, experienced staff like myself are expected to provide training and supervision to management trainees. While this is a part of team development, it can become challenging when my core responsibilities—such as preparing financial reports, handling audits, or performing financial analysis—are already quite demanding. Mentoring trainees could divert time and focus away from critical tasks. Solution: I would recommend clearer task delegation regarding trainee training, where the company provides a more structured training program and assigns dedicated mentors to the trainees. This way, I can remain focused on my primary tasks without being overly burdened by mentoring duties. Team Stability and Project Continuity From experience, fresh graduates or interns tend to remain with a company for a short period, either due to limited contracts or pursuing experience elsewhere after completing their trainee period. Relying heavily on junior workers can disrupt team stability and affect long-term project continuity, especially when they leave after the training or contract ends. Solution: The company should consider strategies to retain high-performing fresh graduates for the long term, such as offering a clear career path or retention programs. This would also provide more stability for the company in maintaining the quality of its workforce. While the management trainee program can bring new energy and fresh ideas, balancing junior and experienced hires is essential for maintaining stability, efficiency, and work quality. As a senior employee, I hope the company provides sufficient support to senior staff in mentoring and ensures the long-term success of the program.

CA/CS trainee, first exposure to corporate life? three realisations: 1. Stop subscribing to the corporate memes, rants, or "gyan" on the internet. They're going to do more damage than actually help you navigate corporate life. (Hence, take the next two with a pinch of salt) 2. Trainees misinterpret that they've begun their corporate life. No! You're still a student. This is your term 2. You should be least concerned with recognition, getting anxious for the mistakes made, or judging the work-life balance idea. Work. Work. Work. For every one life. 3:1 — that's the W:L balance I follow. Take ownership as if you're here forever, but have the humility of being a trainee. Example: You're on a ✈️ simulator. Fly like a pilot, but don't expect to be recognised as one. 3. I love moments where I am pricked for even the slightest haywire; please do that. You're the "pot in progress". 🏺 Wake up every day to only get sculpted better than you were yesterday. You are not in the appraisals or promotions race; hence, the only growth you should be worrying about is "learning aggressively". ________ the opinions or views expressed in content are personal and do not necessarily reflect the views of others.

MY INTERNSHIP EXPERIANCE IN AMARANADHA REDDY & CO Internship at Amaranadha Reddy & Co has been a great experience, an essence of accounting profession for me. The first week, I was oriented about the firm’s mission, values, history, and services which gave me a strong ground to practice on. Interaction with my colleague and dealing with different departments increased my awareness about the firm and I got better professionalization. Typical activities at the workplace during the first days entailed trying to understand organizational chart, reporting cases of computer problems, and other general procedural requirements at the company. One of the strenuous tasks that I was exposed to during my internship was to learn Tally. ERP 9 and Tally Prime 3 both software is integrated with advance accounting system. I acquired data entry skills, and record-keeping, report writing skills, and skills for preparing and analyzing simple financial statements as required for my responsibilities. The internship also established a great deal of concern with GST laws and regulations. I am dealing with registration to the GST and creation e-invoice and filing the GST returns both practically and theoretically. This phase refined the analytical thinking and problem-solving skills that are found in a business environment. Finally, in the semester’s last weeks, I covered general accounting and audit policies including the preparation of financial statements and audit work. This was indeed one of the most useful experiences in that I got a first-hand feel of real-life financial feel. All in all, I had a good experience working at Amaranadha Reddy & Co, and feel equipped to pursue the profession in the field of finance and accounting. I acquired important competencies, vast comprehension of the profession, orientation, and assurance; thus, it was an unforgettable and fruitful experience. I THANK AMARANADHA REDDY & CO AND PES UNIVERSITY FOR THIS OPPORTUNITY
