Are Governments Taking the Lead in MFA Adoption? For cybersecurity, Australia and New Zealand are raising the bar in terms of standards by strongly emphasising phishing-resistant multi-factor authentication (MFA) enhancement. Passkeys and other advanced technologies are being used by both countries against sophisticated cyber threats. Australia’s Essential Eight as well as FSC Standard No. 29, along with New Zealand’s Digital Identity Services Trust Framework Act 2023 recognise the need for strong MFA. These require phishing-resistant MFA across critical systems to protect data and establish public confidence in digital services. Government programs such as the Australian myGov adopting passkeys in July 2024, and Air New Zealand going passwordless are notable for shifting towards stronger authentication methods that are also user-friendly. The goal of these implementations is faster, easier, and more secure sign-ins. Many vendors offer a platform that integrates MFA and passkeys which makes it more convenient for Australian and New Zealand enterprises where security can be improved as well as the ease of use. Do you think your current systems can cope with this change? What measures have been taken in your company to improve security against cyber attacks? #CyberSecurity #MFA #Passkeys

Looking forward to attending CYBERUK 2024 with our partner Silverfort, on the 13th to 15th May at the ICC Birmingham. In the ever-evolving landscape of cyber threats, securing your organisation demands a robust approach. Extended Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) is at the forefront of this defence strategy. Recent polling indicates that 65% of organisations are not confident in identifying and protecting 100% of their service accounts. This vulnerability underscores the critical need for advanced security measures like Extended MFA. Silverfort's Unified Identity Protection Platform allows organisation's to unlock the potential of adaptive policies and advanced secure access controls across hybrid environments. Organised by the National Cyber Security Centre, CYBERUK promises to be a focal point for exploring cutting-edge developments and understanding how the cyber community plans to swiftly respond to the challenges and opportunities presented by the ever-evolving landscape of technology. Come and find us at stand L5 to learn more about how C-STEM's ZTA SMART Solutions enhance DCR capabilities, delivering Security, Productivity & Value Assurance throughout organisations' digital transformation Journeys. #CYBERUK24 #cybersecurity #digitaltransformation #ExtendedMFA #CSTEMDCR #ZTA #smartservices

Hacktivist activities are on the rise in the Middle East 👥 Earlier this year Zain Bahrain, one of the leading telecommunications operators in the Middle East and Africa with over 800,000 customers, experienced a network disruption that lasted more than 48 hours. As highlighted in the Kaspersky ‘Whispers from the Dark Web Cave’ report, this was one of numerous cases of ‘hacktivism’ - a type of cybercrime driven by the desire to promote a political cause. During the first half of 2024, the Kaspersky Digital Footprint Intelligence team observed more than 11 hacktivist movements and other actors specifically targeting the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Jordan and Bahrain. 🎙️ On November 21st we'll be hosting an exclusive webinar to present the key findings from ‘Whispers from the Dark Web Cave’ report, including the top hacktivism cases, affected countries, major trends, statistics and examples of adversary behavior during the attack as well as offer a clear protection strategy. Register now and be the first to know about the latest threats and trends in the region! ➡ https://lnkd.in/e7yjNkZT #kaspersky #webinar #hacktivism #cybersecurity #dataleaks #ransomware #themiddleeast
