God Bless the United State of America and our Sacred and Venerated Flag (click on more) Colors The three colors of our Flag have long been associated with the United States, yet some Americans don’t know the symbolism and meaning behind them: RED symbolizes strength, valor, and the blood shed by those who have fought to protect our freedoms and our country WHITE symbolizes purity, innocence, and the pursuit of peace (insure domestic tranquility) BLUE symbolizes vigilance, perseverance, and justice like the ocean and sky (endless horizons with endless opportunities) These characteristics are aligned closely with the values of America, which is why they are represented in the colors of the American flag. Stripes The modern-day American flag possesses 13 stripes of alternating red and white color. Like every other element on the American flag, there’s deep meaning behind these stripes. When America gained its independence from Great Britain, it had 13 colonies: Delaware, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Georgia, Connecticut, Massachusetts Bay, Maryland, South Carolina, New Hampshire, Virginia, New York, North Carolina, and Rhode Island and Providence Plantations. The 13 stripes recognized in the American flag represent each of these 13 founding colonies. Stars As you know, the 50 stars on the American flag represent the 50 states that comprises the United States of America. More than ever, we must honor, protect, and cherish our flag and our nation.  We are stronger together. We all must continue to work on a more perfect union to secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity. This is HOME.
