IT'S HARVEST TIME! 🍯 Today kicks off our new fiscal year and honey harvest season at Dutchman's Gold Yeah, celebrating a new year in the middle of summer may throw off the calendar, but, finding that fresh start vibe is kinda fun. (and a great reason for a dance party) 😊 On this first day of the new (fiscal) year, we are shaking off the old, resetting, and gearing up for an abundant harvest. (fingers crossed it’ll be a good one) To all the risk-takers, entrepreneurs, and trailblazers out there, big shoutout to you! I'm courtside, cheering you on. I see you! Planting those metaphorical seeds isn’t easy—it takes guts, focus, and action, and we've been sowing plenty, just like everyone else. Challenges and rewards come hand in hand. The road less taken may be rugged, but hey, that's where growth and wins happen. And when they do, it's so sweet! Looking back on the past year, we've braved storms, conquered fears, and hit milestones. There were days when throwing in the towel felt tempting, (believe you/me, and my husband can attest) but you know what… Every setback has brought progress; every hurdle nudged us forward. Gratitude fills my heart as I reflect on the journey so far, knowing that even better times are ahead. Here's to a year of thriving and winning and wishing the same for all of you. Harvest is in full swing out there!!!  And if you live in the city, drive out to the rural spaces and just marvel at amazing and hard work our farmers are putting in for this season.  Harvest season is all around us which can represent a time of reflection, gathering, and reaping the fruits of their efforts, here's what each Enneagram type might pay attention to: Type 1: The Reformer Focus: Quality and improvement. ‘Managing Our Harvest’ Last week, we talked about how everything we do produces an outcome—a harvest. This week, I want to share the importance of tending to that harvest with care and foresight. There's a story that illustrates this well. It’s about a man who started strong, planting a vineyard that promised grapes for years to come. But as time went on, he became complacent. Thorns began to grow, the fence he built started to break down, and while he took it easy, his vineyard slowly fell into disrepair. This proverb is found in Proverbs 24:30-34. The takeaway? We need to actively maintain what we want to harvest. Whether in our personal lives, careers, or relationships, neglect can cause us to lose what we’ve worked so hard to build. This week, I encourage you to take a closer look at the areas in your life that might need a little more attention. Are there "weeds" that need pulling? Does a part of your "vineyard" need some extra care? Remember, managing your harvest isn’t just about enjoying the fruits of your labor—it’s about ensuring that your efforts today lead to abundance tomorrow. PRIORITIES, PROFILE & QUESTIONS We are ending our harvest of tomatoes today with lots of green ones to fry up. But as our nature harvest is ending it is time to nourish the garden beds. It is also time to harvest our yearly Karma crop. “Success occurs when preparation and opportunity meet,” quotes Seneca, a Roman wise guy. By knowing where we are, what we have created, where we want to go, we add to who we are. We increase the opportunity to not just show up, but show up, on time, with a plan and with the tricks and treasures to make miracles happen. As with each time I begin writing to cure Seriousitis™ I ask, ‘Where is my Attention? I check out the NOW, ponder the weeks THEN and IMAGINE the What Could Be. The practice becomes a venture into the dead past and imagined future,  but if we don’t know where we are going “any road will do”, as the Cheshire Cat has said. If we don’t know where we’ve been perhaps history repeats itself and nothing new is deposited in our Karma accounts, and the saw doesn’t get sharpened,  and precious items are left out in the rain. I begin the Harvest with some old questions: What is happening? What do I want? What have I learned? Those questions act as a Ground of Being setting the tone for exploration, one of my favorite verbs, with newness, adventure and the UNKNOWN. Those questions serve me a huge plate to nosh upon. I mix some ideas into a metaphoric meal, what’s my current life appetizer?  What gets me excited to get to my Harvest banquet?  What gets the juices going for the entrée? Does the entrée fulfill my purpose?  Am I getting enough nourishment? Am I eating too much, too little or gobbling up the same old same old?  What new spice can I add? Am I still addicted to dessert?
