Stop confusing marketing with business development for your law firm – they’re not the same!🛑 Marketing is about getting noticed—websites, content, social media, and emails help attract potential clients and build your brand. But business development is where relationships are built, leads are nurtured, and prospects turn into loyal clients. Both are crucial to your firm’s success. 𝗜𝗻𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗸𝗲𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗪𝗼𝗻'𝘁 𝗔𝘁𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁 𝗡𝗲𝘄 𝗖𝗹𝗶𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀, 𝗙𝘂𝗹𝗹 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗶𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗪𝗶𝗹𝗹 Shifting the client base you want to reach is never out of the question, but your approach will decide whether you are successful. This is the responsibility of your marketing, but one big mistake many law firms make is being incremental about it. Lawyers tend to be slow at adapting to changes in the market, often repeating the same marketing and networking habits without re-evaluating their effectiveness. If you target a new audience, all your effort should be directed at it. Let’s say you want to move from handling family law cases to appeals. Gradually altering your marketing can mean you will still attract clients who don’t fit your new focus, cutting any potential benefits by half. It would be best if you made a clean break and actively court the clients you want: showcase work that exclusively appeals to them in your content, and tailor your communication efforts to their specific needs. Analyzing who your best and biggest clients are and focusing on how to attract more like them is just the first step. Don’t be a prisoner of your present, confined by the comfort of your existing client base. Instead, embrace the potential of your ideal clients and direct all your marketing efforts toward them. Delaying the shift not only makes the transition harder but also lessens the impact of your new approach. Most barriers here are psychological: the fear of losing your current client base or anxiety about leaving your comfort zone. However, once you commit fully, you’ll see the results. Working with third parties is a good idea; they can offer an outside view of these issues and help you navigate the transition effectively. So, if you’re ready to change your client base, jump in with both feet. The sooner you start targeting your ideal clients, the sooner you’ll see the results. #LawFirms #LawFirmMarketing #ClientAcquisition #LegalMarketing #BusinessStrategy

Professionals recognize the value of professionals. Which is why lawyers shouldn’t be handling their own marketing. That said, not all marketing companies are created equally. 🫣 Your law firm business requires a greater level of understanding that most marketing companies have, which is why you need to work with a company run by a lawyer who specializes in #legalMarketing 🔥 Like me. 😘 Want to talk about your marketing strategy (or lacktherof?) link in bio to book a free discovery call. #lawfirmmarketingtips #lawfirmgrowth #womanownedbusiness #womanowned #lawyerlife
