Hey, Happy Women’s History Month Celebrating and honoring women’s history has always been tied to women’s rights in the workplace as a step towards equity in our society. The very first International Women’s Day celebrations started because people wanted to push for better work opportunities and conditions. And even as it evolved into a month-long observance, women have had to continue tackling these same basic issues head-on. 💡 Workplaces, before rushing to repost your favorite mainstream faces of women’s history and movements year after year, I implore workplace leaders to ask yourselves: What does celebrating Women’s History mean to you? And how does your celebration contribute to better workplace inclusion for championing and supporting women every month? A 2024 survey by Checkr, Inc.‘Gender Equality in the Workplace: Insights from Women Across Four Generations’ unveiled the following on the current state of equity at work:https://bit.ly/3uO0uSt ➡ Just 11% of women strongly feel that their male colleagues in the workplace show equal respect towards women as they do towards men ➡ About 67% of women perceive that they receive lower pay compared to their male counterparts for equivalent work ➡ 82% of women believe that reporting gender bias or discrimination at work could harm their job security or career advancement Women’s History Month should celebrate how far we’ve come, and look toward the work that’s still to be done for all women: For women with disabilities For women in the LGBTQIA+ community For Indigenous women For Black women For Hispanic & Latine(x) women For Asian women For women of all lived experiences. If you plan on honoring Women’s History Month with your workplace, know that true celebration goes beyond simply acknowledging women’s historical contributions - it means actively working towards a more equitable workplace for all women. We extend a sincere THANK YOU to our exceptional advisors who have collaborated with The Rise Journey helping to foster understanding of the distinct experiences and obstacles faced by women in both the workplace and our community: Brooke Shapiro, Danielle Yacono Terry, Monica Rivera, Mona Eshaiker, LMFT, Kamilah Avant, @Monica Gangwar, Senna Bayasgalan, Aurora Higgs, 🏳️🌈 Taina Brown, MA, and Willow Hill If you are a workplace leader interested in celebrating Women’s History Month with education, be sure to explore their featured workshops this month: https://bit.ly/3uO0vpv #WomensHistoryMonth #DEI #GenderEquity #InclusiveWorkplaces

It’s International Women’s Day! Today and every day, we celebrate the strength, resilience, and achievements of women worldwide, including our talented women here at Dexian. ⭐ 🎉 While society has come a long way towards inclusivity and gender equality, there’s still work to do. Hear from Dexians Ashlea Wooten-Chapple, M.S., Kristin Arnoldy, Stacey Klempner, Hannah Jordan, and Jill Graham on how we can ALL better support women in the workplace. ⬇️ Ashlea Wooten-Chapple, M.S.: There are so many ways that women can be supported in the workplace. When I look back at my career, I really appreciate a company that goes above and beyond to cultivate an inclusive work culture for everyone! In addition to the work culture, having policies that support a healthy work-life balance and creating clear paths for career progression and mentorship is key. Kristin Arnoldy: Actively listen, offer genuine compliments, and support each other through the highs and lows. By fostering empathy and inclusivity, we can create a culture where everyone feels valued and empowered to speak up authentically. Stacey Klempner: In today's workplace, women can create a powerful force for positive change by empowering each other. This starts with actively listening to female colleagues, showing genuine interest in their ideas, and ensuring their voices are heard. By championing their contributions and advocating for their advancement, women can create a network of support that encourages growth and success. Don't just "make it" yourself; "send the elevator back down" by mentoring and creating a workplace where all women can thrive. Hannah Jordan: I believe supporting women in the workplace starts with fostering an environment where everyone's voice is heard and valued. I’ve dealt with imposter syndrome myself, and I’ve known other women who struggle with the same feeling of self-doubt in the workplace. What helps tremendously is having a culture of mentorship and encouragement where women can navigate feelings of insecurity and empower them to embrace their unique talents and contributions. Creating a supportive environment where women feel valued, respected, and confident in their abilities to excel and lead is so important Jill Graham: It is of the utmost importance to remove bias barriers allowing for amplification of thoughts, ideas, solutions, and our voice. Cognitively, women bring a different perspective that can be overlooked that would heighten and provide a greater level of achievement and stronger bonds within the workforce. The impact of pairing women with women through mentorship as well as the development of strategy is instrumental in the empowerment and growth of women in any organization. Finding common ground to relate and interact builds confidence and unmatched relationships that flow over within every avenue of an organization. #IWD #IWD2024 #InternationalWomensDay

March is Women’s History Month, a celebration of women’s contributions to history, culture, and society. 🌸 I will take this opportunity to leave this wonderful community with 10 ways to support and empower women in the workforce: 1. Support Fair Career Growth Opportunities Advocate for equal opportunities for women. Encourage your female colleagues to strive for leadership roles and ensure they face no barriers in reaching their career objectives. Offer mentorship, coaching and guidance when possible. 2. Create Inclusive Spaces Cultivate a workplace that’s safe and inclusive for women. Encourage open dialogue, listen to their experiences, and address any issues promptly. Everyone should feel respected and valued. 3. Promote Flexibility in the Workplace Set policies that allow flexibility for parents and caregivers. Establish clear boundaries for work hours to prevent burnout. Shift the focus from work-life balance to work-life integration. Encourage holistic well-being. 4. Champion Each Other There is nothing more powerful than women supporting one another! Celebrate each other’s achievements, collaborate, and lift each other up. Honor accomplishments and create a positive atmosphere at work. 5. Offer Learning and Development Programs Create or support programs that focus on learning and development for women. Mentorship, upskilling, and career development opportunities are essential for gender equality in the workforce. 6. Promote Equal Pay Advocate for pay transparency and ensure that women receive equal pay for equal work. 7. Encourage Networking Facilitate networking opportunities for women. Encourage attendance at industry events, conferences, and workshops. Networking helps build connections and reveal career opportunities. 8. Combat Microaggressions Be aware of subtle biases and microaggressions. Interrupt them when you witness them and create a respectful environment for everyone. 9. Include Women in Decision-Making Ensure that women are part of the decision-making processes. Representation matters, and diverse perspectives lead to better outcomes. 10. Learn About Gender Bias Understand that gender bias exists, even if it’s often unconscious. Educate yourself about stereotypes and discriminatory behaviors. If you notice gender bias, intervene and help others recognize the problem. Women’s journey into the workforce has been shaped by historical events, societal changes, and cultural initiatives. The struggle for equality continues, and though significant progress has been made over the past century, some challenges remain, including the gender pay gap and underrepresentation of women in certain fields. By being an ally and advocating for gender equality, we can each contribute to a more inclusive workplace for everyone. Happy March, I wish you the best week ahead! ✨ #mondaymotivation #womenhistorymonth 🌸 #genderequality

International Women’s Day 2024 is almost upon us, with a rather apt theme: “Inspire Inclusion”. Having been in this industry for almost 8 years, I have witnessed first hand the positive shift being made towards creating more equitable and open working experiences for all. But it’s worth noting we still have some way to go. Women make up or influence 85% of all purchasing decisions. And yet when it comes to female leadership in our industry, there is still a gap to close: just 37% of leadership roles in media and comms are held by women. Something I believe is a real shame. Especially being lucky enough to be part of a culture where every voice, irrespective of gender, background or experience is equally heard and encouraged. And a team where 75% of our executive leadership is female. So in celebration of International Women’s Day 2024, I would like to take this time to reflect on what I have learnt from working with some of the most courageous, empathetic, confident women in the industry. 1. Unlocking the brilliance in others they may not yet see in themselves is the greatest achievement of all. 2. Making time for others is time well invested. 3. It’s ok to say no. And it’s ok to say another time. In fact, it’s vital. Your time is yours to invest and protect. 4. You don’t always have to know the answer. And your answer does not always have to be the ‘right’ one. 5. You only learn by limiting your own voice, and elevating others. Listening really is underrated. 6. Empowering someone else’s confidence does wonders for your own. 7. Empathy and showing emotional vulnerability is a superpower, not a weakness. After all, we are all human beings with lives, feelings and responsibilities, inside and outside of work. 8. Brilliance comes from everywhere. Stagnation comes from limiting voices and views. 9.Make space for all- and if it’s not there, create it. We only really thrive when everyone thrives. 10. Gender equality is just one space to address. Equality ultimately needs to mean equality for all. International Women’s day is a day to celebrate, champion and spotlight the incredible women who are making the world more brilliant, equal and open for all. But in truth, this is something we should celebrate and be thankful for everyday. I know I certainly am. With that in mind, I would like to take this time to say thanks. To all of the incredible women, present and past at Interbrand London I have been privileged to collaborate with, learn from, and grow with on my professional journey so far. Here’s to you- and us!
