🛑 Know the Service You’re Selling – Permits Matter! Before committing to any service, STOP and ensure you fully understand the service you are offering and what permits are required to legally and successfully execute that service. Whether it’s drayage, oversized loads, HazMat transport, or specialized cargo, the right permits must be in place. NO EXCEPTIONS. NO GUESSWORK. Work hand in hand with Operations to verify all required permits before finalizing any sale. Failing to do so puts the entire operation, and your client relationships, at risk. Make sure you’re covered, or don’t sell it. 3 Easy Steps to Ensure Execution: 💎 Understand the Service Know exactly what service you’re selling (interstate, oversized, HazMat, port drayage, etc.). Each service has specific permit requirements that must be in place. 💎 Confirm Permits with Operations Before finalizing any sale, communicate directly with Operations to confirm all necessary permits are active and valid. This includes interstate permits, HazMat, port-specific, and local permits. 💎 Document Permit Confirmation Keep a clear record that permits were verified with Operations. This documentation is essential for accountability and ensures that no service is sold without legal compliance. 😉 ""Providing inspiration to Operations"

Negotiations can be tricky, and even experienced agents can make mistakes that cost their clients. Let's take a look at three of the biggest mistakes real estate agents often make during negotiations and how to steer clear of them: 1️⃣ Not Preparing Properly: Heading into negotiations without a clear understanding of your client's needs or the current market trends can leave you vulnerable. Make sure you're fully prepared with relevant data and insights. 2️⃣ Focusing on Winning, Not on the Win-Win: Negotiations aren't about dominating; they're about creating solutions that benefit both parties. Strive to find a balance that satisfies your clients without alienating the other side. 3️⃣ Losing Control of Emotions: Letting emotions drive your strategy can derail negotiations. Keep a calm, collected demeanor, and focus on facts rather than feelings. By avoiding these mistakes, you'll navigate negotiations with confidence and close deals that benefit everyone involved. 🏡💼 Ready to sharpen your negotiation skills and thrive in real estate? What’s the one thing you can have to massively influence any negotiations? BATNA. It’s not a bad spelling of the cape crusader. It means Best Alternative to a Negotiated Agreement (BATNA). Simple terms, it’s your backup plan before entering any negotiations. Your BATNA gives you the confidence to walk away if the deal isn’t right for you. Imagine if you’re car shopping, you don’t have a good sense of the market rate and other cars (alternatives). You will likely be walking into a bad deal. Just like knowing the market rate for cars gives you leverage, having alternatives in job negotiations can help you secure a better deal. Another offer? Your existing job? Having BATNA can massively help you build confidence in not rushing to take what’s on the table. At DPA, we believe that having access to market data can help you build strong BATNA. (so you don’t walk away with lemons 🍋). Our pay data is all community driven, fully accessible. We’re running our 2024 survey right now and your participation will be massive. Help us by sharing your data anonymously and safely, so you can focus on the important bits like strengthening your BATNA. Link in the comments 👇
