Ever wonder what goes into making a good video? Let's pull back the curtain: ➡️ Good location (natural light, warm colours, props & decoration) ➡️ Talented actress ➡️ Excellent lighting (additionally to the natural light, good, bright, and diffused professional lighting is a MUST) ➡️ A camera monitor (that allows Ignasi Boltó and I to actually SEE what we're doing 😉 ) ➡️ A boom microphone (because a quality image requires irreproachable sound quality too). #BTS #BehindTheScenes #VideoProduction #Actress #Filmmaking #Collaboration #Contentcreation

Specialist Headshot Photographer & Facial Expression Coach – Creating impactful images for Business Owners, Executives & Team Members. Special interest in working with leaders who use their business as a force for good.
Headshots #notjustapicture Headshots can be undervalued by people who don’t understand how important they are. There are so many intricacies at play when choosing a headshot to represent yourself online or in print. Creatives and Corporate business clients both use headshots but in very different ways. There can be a marked difference in the message each one would convey from their image. Actors tend to showcase more range in their expressions in order to impress their ability to inhabit different characters. Such headshots are used as a calling card for casting directors when auditioning for roles in TV, film and Theatrical performance. Corporate headshots tend to be less dramatic. In essence it depends on the role of the subject in their business. There will be a difference in the intended message of a CEO and that of a receptionist. We would expect very different messaging. The receptionist is more likely to be more welcoming and the CEO much more serious and business like whilst remaining approachable. See there are even discrepancies within corporate headshots and their intended message. Meet Romaine Smith. Actor, Model, Muscian. Understanding the role a headshot plays in your business is essential. #notjustapicture #headshotphotographerbath #csuiteleaders

Helping Extraordinary People Become Extraordinary Speakers | Public Speaking and Interpersonal Communication Coach
Do you want to be a more effective communicator? Start with a strong foundation--by changing your shoes. In a theatre production, costumes are vital to the actor's creation of character. They change everything. The way we move, our silhouette, is all determined by costume. They're also magnificently time-consuming and one of the last design components to be completed. There's a reason dress-rehearsal comes right before opening night. But in the interim, actors still need to develop the movement and physicality of their character. So, they change their shoes. Finding a pair of rehearsal shoes similar in look and feel to those shoes you'll wear on opening night creates a foundation of transformation. It's the first "step"--pun intended--in creating the look, feel, and experience of your onstage persona. So, how do you want to be seen, felt, heard, and experienced in your community and relationships? Start building that foundation with a great pair of shoes which make you feel like the communicator you want to commit to and become. #effectivecommunication #howtoshowup #iftheshoefits #shoesmaketheoutfit #speakintoaction

Linked in Top Voice 📣 for “Security Operations 🔒”, “🎭Theatrical Production” and “Workplace Safety 🦺”. Health, Safety and Security Specialist. (Chartered) CFIOSH, MBA, FIIRSM
🎭 Should Safety be part of the Creative Process for Theatre Productions** 🎭 Creativity and safety should go hand in hand in my view (having worked in safety and theatres for over 20 years). Too often, safety is treated as an afterthought—something to be addressed once the creative aspects of the show have been finalised. However in my experience some of the most successful and professional productions are those where safety is embedded in every part of the creative process from the very beginning. 🔨 Set Design: When safety consultants collaborate with set designers from the outset, they can identify potential hazards and design out risks. This proactive approach not only prevents accidents but also avoids costly reworks later on. 💃 Choreography and Blocking: Including safety professionals in discussions around choreography and blocking ensures that movement and positioning on stage are both dynamic and safe. They can provide valuable insights on how to execute complex sequences without compromising performer safety. 🎨 Creative Decisions: Whether it’s the use of special effects, rigging, or props, having safety experts in the room during the decision-making process allows for a seamless integration of creative vision and safety measures. 🌟 A New Standard for Theatre: Imagine a production where safety is not an obstacle but a fundamental part of the creative toolkit. By prioritising safety from the start, we create an environment where creativity can flourish without compromise. #TheatreSafety #CreativeProcess #SetDesign #Choreography #ProductionSafety #TheatreInnovation #SafetyFirst

Multi-genre Author | Academic Scholar | Learning and Training Environment Scientist, Theorist & Expert | International Speaker | Clergy | Transplant Advocate
Environmental aesthetics can have a significant effect on three distinct factors applicable to an actor's training environments; Wellbeing, Academic Achievement, and Recruitment and Retention (WARR Factor Theory; Parr, 2017), theoretically applicable to all movie, play, and independent production preparation and rehearsal within the applicable learning and training environments. These factors explained include the artist's Wellbeing (personal feelings, psychological acceptance, and comfortability of themselves and character being portrayed), Academic Achievement (retainment of lines, familiarity of backstory, and comprehensiveness of character development), and Recruitment and Retention (willingness to arrive and stay on set, and stay throughout production). Aesthetics influencing the WARR Factor could include the type and availability of food and seating in the green rooms, the lighting, available assistants, and wardrobe setup in the costume fitment spaces, and the type and location of filming equipment, soundproofing elements, and the levels of routine cleaning and maintenance performed on rehearsal and performance facilities. #acting #actors #environment #studio #aesthetics #warrfactortheory #plays

Do you want your talking-to-camera videos to stand out? Let's look at this simple cinematic look with two lights. The biggest challenge here is to have a key light with a dome (to make it a soft light). Then you have some practical lamp (one from Ikea does the job well) You put the key light at a 45-degree angle to light your face (and you automatically). Then, you position your practical lamp on the opposite side of your key light (behind you). What's left is to point the camera at you, press record, and start creating. If that's too much, ignore it and record as you can. Once you master the recording part, you will eventually get to lighting techniques. Keep creating. #videoproduction #contentcreator #filmmaking #filmmakerslife
