This is the perfect example of perseverance, determination, and relentlessness that can be used as a framework in nearly every situation, in sports or in another professional career. Prior to Sunday, Xander Schauffele had 6 PGA tournament wins, but zero of them major wins, despite having 13 top 10 finishes in major tournaments. 6 wins on the PGA Tour is more than most professional golfers will ever achieve, and alone may have earned Schauffele a spot in the hall of fame. However, the PGA icon had his eyes on something more than a solid career and legacy; to be a Major Champion. Throughout your career, you will experience success and failure. With failure, we know we need to roll with the punches, get back up, and keep going. When you succeed, raise your standards. There is no ceiling, there's only a higher level of excellence to achieve, in Xander's case, to be a major champion.

With the Top 10 players on the DP World Tour now gaining status for the next year on the PGA TOUR at the end of each season, and that some of those from the previous season will maintain their place on the PGA TOUR - I get why this 'new' system of qualifying points for The Ryder Cup to me seems weighted heavily towards the PGA TOUR. Not sure why your own ROLEX Series events are weighted lower than 'Signature' events - especially the BMW PGA at Wentworth and the Scottish Open. While I'm on Signature events - do we really need 8 ? My suggestion (not that anyone cares- LOL) would be to reduce the number to 4 as the current criteria stands and then have 4 that are combined LIV/DP/PGA events - Top 35-45 from PGA/DP Tours and Top 25-35 from LIV. Full OWGR points and a 72-hole format (perhaps PIF will pay the purses or at least contribute heavily). That way - hopefully at least 8 times a year the best of the best are playing against each other. As far as regular 54-hole LIV Golf events - if my handicap gets slashed to 3/4 every time I play in a competition there must be an equitable algorithm that can equate LIV's 54-hole events so we can all move on and promote the game of golf to the millions that play it instead of the couple hundred that make generational wealth from it. On Tuesday I played two competitions at the same time. Before the "purists" come on saying "you can't do that, that's not in the rules", we did - we allow it in our golf society, and have done for years (even though I prefer not to when I can). One was a normal golf competition - 20 players, stableford, all playing against the course, best score wins. The other, matchplay - playing against one other person, quarter final, least shots per hole wins the hole, most hole wins, wins. A bit like you see on the final day of the Ryder Cup. A dry Croke Park.. The GAA is displaying a commendable example of prioritising responsible alcohol consumption over financial gain, especially in the context of their stance on alcohol consumption at sporting events. Unlike the scenarios where American football and Bruce Springsteen concerts at Croke Park allow fans to enjoy alcoholic beverages from their seats, the GAA's approach warrants attention for its forward-thinking stance on public health and safety when it comes to Irish sport. This discrepancy isn't merely about creating a double standard but underscores a deeper commitment to encouraging more responsible alcohol consumption among fans, irrespective of the event when it comes to Irish sport. What rockers or other foreign sports do is not relevant to it. Thems their rules. In not extending the permission to consume alcohol directly in the seating areas to all events, the GAA indirectly supports efforts made elsewhere, like the rugby Principality Stadium in Wales and Twickenham, to offer a more inclusive and comfortable environment for all attendees. It reflects government health policy. Irish rugby choses to ignore this The GAA's stance reflects its values. Rugby had a choice whether to accept these values and are lucky to be allowed to play at Croke Park at all
