More applicants don't mean that recruiting/hiring is any easier. It creates a whole other set of issues. The time that it takes to run through internal applications goes up. Most of the candidates that apply haven't spent time researching your company and likely aren't a good fit. Creating a positive candidate experience becomes a major challenge. Especially with a leaner talent team, which for most companies is the case compared to 24 months ago. The biggest challenge remains the same. Recruiting/hiring anyone vs recruiting/hiring the right candidate. Filling seats isn't hard. Hiring top talent that is aligned with your mission and values is.
