Field Operations Engineer 🖤💀⚙️ 🎶 Rule number 32: "Always enjoy the little things." A Flare 🔥 is a thin and tall structure, present in industrial places, that releases steam or flame at its top. It is a gas combustion device that carries out the controlled burning of waste. It also protects the equipment of many oil and gas extraction facilities from the dangers of overpressures. When oil is extracted from offshore or onshore fields, the natural gas associated with this oil is also brought to the surface. As a result, they are mainly found in refineries, chemical and petrochemical plants, natural gas processing plants, offshore exploration and/or production platforms. Flare ignition can occur for several reasons: - Part of the test to stabilize the pressure and flow of the well. - To manage residual gas that is not captured or processed. - For safety reasons, releasing pressure. Any experiences that colleagues would like to share?... ☕ #oilgas #wellservices #professionalexperiences #engineering #ecuador #petroleumengineer #wellintervention #engineer #work #moments #worksafe #workhard #IADC #IWCF #PetroleumServices

Field Operations Engineer 🖤💀⚙️ Test separators are used to facilitate periodic testing of one or more wells by separating gas, crude oil and water from the wellbore fluid stream for detailed flow measurements and analysis. In addition to being used to separate and measure relatively small quantities of oil and gas. Test separators can be two or three phase, horizontal, vertical or spherical. They can also be permanent or portable. Test separators are sometimes equipped with different meters to determine oil, water, and gas rates, which are important for diagnosing well problems, evaluating the production performance of individual wells, and managing reserves appropriately. Test separators are also called well testers or well checkers. Without a doubt, a fundamental part of our surface facilities. 🔥 #oilgas #wellservices #production #oilproduction #professionalexperiences #engineering #ecuador #petroleumengineer #surfacefacilities #engineer #work #moments #worksafe #workhard #IADC #IWCF #PetroleumServices

In the oil and gas industry, maintaining the integrity of pipelines is paramount to ensuring safe and efficient operations. One critical aspect of pipeline maintenance is the internal coating of field joints. Field joints, the sections where two pipe segments are welded together, are particularly vulnerable to corrosion and other forms of damage. Properly coating these joints internally can significantly enhance the longevity and reliability of pipelines. #PipelineMaintenance #FieldJointCoating #InternalCoating #CorrosionProtection #OilAndGas #PipelineIntegrity #FlowEfficiency #IndustrialCoating #PipeCoating #BinaryRobotics #IndustrialSolutions #PipelineTechnology #SustainablePractices #PipelineSafety #EngineeringExcellence https://lnkd.in/d_Hdgb9g

Oil and gas engineering projects involve the exploration, extraction, refining, and distribution of oil and gas resources. These projects are complex and often take place in challenging environments, such as deep-sea locations 🌊, arctic regions ❄️, and desert areas 🏜️. Safety is a crucial aspect of these projects due to the high risks associated with the handling of flammable and toxic substances, high pressures, and extreme temperatures ⚠️. Key Aspects of Oil and Gas Engineering Projects: 1. Upstream (Exploration and Production) 🚜 2. Midstream (Transportation and Storage) 🚛 3. Downstream (Refining and Distribution) 🏭 Safety Considerations in Oil and Gas Engineering Projects Safety is a top priority in oil and gas engineering due to the potential hazards involved. Key safety considerations include: 1. Process Safety Management (PSM) ⚙️: Focuses on preventing the release of hazardous substances. Involves risk assessments, safety protocols, and emergency response planning. Includes regular maintenance, inspection, and testing of equipment. 2. Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) 🦺: Ensures the safety and well-being of workers on-site. Involves training, personal protective equipment (PPE), and safety drills. Addresses potential risks such as fires 🔥, explosions 💥, and exposure to toxic gases. 3. Environmental Safety 🌍: Prevents environmental contamination from spills, leaks, and emissions. Requires compliance with environmental regulations and standards. Involves monitoring and controlling waste, emissions, and water discharges. 4. Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS) 🚨: Automated systems that detect abnormal conditions and take corrective actions. Includes alarms, shutdown systems, and emergency controls. Helps to minimize the impact of potential accidents. 5. Human Factors and Ergonomics 🧑🔧: Addresses human error by designing user-friendly systems and controls. Involves proper training, clear communication 🗣️, and fatigue management. Considers the physical and mental well-being of workers. 6. Fire and Explosion Protection 🚒: Utilizes fire detection, suppression systems, and explosion-proof equipment. Involves the use of flame retardants, firewalls, and emergency response teams. Requires regular fire drills and emergency preparedness training. Oil and gas engineering projects are complex and inherently risky, but with proper safety management and adherence to regulations, these risks can be significantly reduced. The industry continues to innovate and improve safety practices to protect workers, communities, and the environment 🌿. #OilandGas #Refinery #Safety #Environment #Engineering #Projects
