Field Operations Engineer 🖤💀⚙️ Top Drive Systems 📹 A top drive is a big motor system which is hoisted in a derrick or mast of a drilling rig. A top drive is a modern rotating system which has been popular for many drilling contractors and oil operators. Top drives can be used on all types of rigs, from truck-mounted rigs to offshore rigs. Top Drives are also extremely safe. Because their operation can be handled remotely, there is no need for rig workers to directly deal with this heavy equipment. Additionally, Top Drives can provide the necessary torque needed to tighten connections and can pierce 90-foot sections, which reduces connection and monitoring time, as well as provides improved directional control Top Drive System some components: - Torque Track - Optional Swivel - Torque Bushing - Swivel Sub - Extend Frame - Quill - Mainframe Assembly - Load Nut - Pipe Handler Assembly - Tilt Assembly - Stabbing Valve - Saver Sub - Grabber Assembly - Bail Assembly - Elevator What could you add? 🎶🎶 #oilgas #wellservices #professionalexperiences #engineering #ecuador #petroleumengineer #wellintervention #engineer #work #moments #worksafe #workhard #IADC #IWCF #PetroleumServices

Slick line operations "Slick line operation" typically refers to a technique used in the oil and gas industry to perform various well intervention activities using a slickline, which is a slender, single-strand wire. These operations can include tasks like setting or retrieving downhole equipment, perforating casing, or logging. It's a crucial part of maintaining and optimizing production in oil and gas wells. Slick line components Slickline: A thin, high-strength wire made of alloy steel, typically ranging from 0.092 to 0.160 inches (2.34 to 4.06 mm) in diameter. It serves as the mainline for conveying tools and equipment downhole. Toolstring: The assembly of tools and equipment attached to the slickline for specific well intervention tasks. Toolstrings can vary widely depending on the operation but often include tools for logging, setting or retrieving plugs, perforating, or fishing stuck equipment. Surface Equipment: Various pieces of equipment at the surface used to control the slickline and perform operations. This includes a winch or drum to spool and tension the slickline, a lubricator to contain well fluids during toolstring deployment, and a control panel for operating the winch and other surface equipment. Downhole Tools: Specialized tools and equipment designed to perform specific tasks downhole. These tools may include logging tools for gathering data about the wellbore, mechanical tools for manipulating or retrieving downhole equipment, perforating guns for creating holes in casing or formation, or plugs for isolating zones within the wellbore. Pressure Control Equipment: Safety equipment used to prevent blowouts and control well pressure during slickline operations. This may include blowout preventers (BOPs) and associated control systems to contain well fluids and prevent uncontrolled releases of pressure. Personnel: Highly trained personnel including slickline operators, engineers, and supervisors who plan, execute, and oversee slickline operations to ensure safety, efficiency, and success. #slickline #wellintervention #offshore #onshore #oilandgas #oilproduction #wells #oilandgasindustry

#Spiders and #elevators are two vital tools used in #tubular_running_services, ensuring the safe and efficient handling of tubular goods during oil and gas well operations. #Spiders are used to suspend tubular goods in the drilling rig's derrick or mast, providing support and stability during casing or tubing installation. Elevators ( I will talk about it later), on the other hand, are used to lift and lower tubular goods in and out of the wellbore, making it possible to move them from the pipe rack to the rig floor and connect or disconnect pipe sections. These tools are critical in ensuring the safety and efficiency of tubular running operations during well construction and maintenance. #tubularrunningservice #spiders #casingoperation #oilgas #drilling #Iam a Maintenance Technician and I love drilling field

Field Operations Engineer 🖤💀⚙️ Stuffing Box 🔥 what happened here colleagues? - Let's learn from everyone. .☕ Wireline Stuffing Box is the primary barrier during slickline operations and is used during work on wells with pressure. The Stuffing Box consists of a packing chamber with an external nut or hydraulic chamber. The Stuffing Box provides a swivel bracket and sheave that guide the wireline through the packing chamber. The radius of the Stuffing Box sheave is interchangeable to accept larger sheaves for larger wireline sizes. The packing is energized and forms an effective seal around the wireline and preventing well pressures from escaping. The packing is energized by tightening a nut on a “manual” Stuffing Box or by apply hydraulic pressure to a “Hydraulic” Stuffing Box. The Hydraulic Stuffing Box can be remotely operated and is generally used. The pressure necessary to affect the seal will be variable and is also minimized. Excessive forces can prematurely wear the gland packing or cause the packing to become so tight the wireline cannot be moved. Stuffing boxes contain an integrated plunger (blow out plug or internal BOP) that incorporates passage of the wireline. If the wireline becomes separated and ejected from the well, the integrated plunger is forced up against the bottom of the packing chamber and seals off against well pressure #oilgas #wellservices #professionalexperiences #engineering #ecuador #petroleumengineer #wellintervention #engineer #work #moments #worksafe #workhard #IADC #IWCF #PetroleumServices

Field Operations Engineer 🖤💀⚙️ 🔥 The weight indicator (Weight Indicator) or better known in the lexicon of drill workers as Martin Decker (Martin-Decker is the name of the manufacturing company) is one of the instruments used by the driller to monitor and control the operation of drilling and the machinist to monitor and control the Workover operation. The actual measurement of the weight is carried out with a hydraulic meter attached to the dead line of the drilling cable / W.O. As the tension in the drilling cable increases, more hydraulic fluid is forced through the instrument, turning the indicator hands. What is weighed is everything that exerts tension on the wire rope, including the traveling block and the rope itself. Therefore, to obtain an accurate measurement of the drill string weight/W.O, the driller/machinist must first perform a zero offset adjustment to account for the weight of the traveling block and the weight of non-string items. drilling / W.O. Then, the indicated weight will represent the weight of the drill string (weight of the drill string + the weight of the bottom hole assembly (BHA). In most operations, the driller / Machinist is not only interested in knowing the weight of the drill string / W.O. In drilling operations the weight of interest is the weight applied to the bit or bit at the bottom of the well. To do this, the driller simply takes the rotation and release weight off the bottom, and from that result he subtracts the rotation weight on the bottom, thereby obtaining the weight that is being applied to the bit or bit. That is, the weight on the bit or bit (Weight On Bit) is: WOB = String Weight Off Bottom – String Weight on Bottom However, most drilling rigs are provided with a weight indicator that has a second measuring hand that can be set to zero with the drill string hanging freely, and that operates inversely to the measuring hand. main measurement. After correct zeroing, the effect of any weight placed on the bottom is to add weight to this secondary measurement hand so that the driller can directly read the weight being applied to the bit or wick. Field Operations Engineer 🖤💀⚙️ 🔥 In any type of operations it is very important to take into account the state of a drill's tools, the barriers in different operating situations and in the different well conditions in which they can be used are: • In a well being drilled, completed or workover operations: - The hydraulic barrier = the completion fluid - The mechanical barrier = the BOP stack and the casing • In the production phase of the well: - The hydraulic barrier = is not active, because it is isolated from the packer. - The mechanical barrier is composed of: The valves of the Xmas tree The packer, the tubing hanger, the tubing spool valves Tubing and casing SCSSV valve • Put the well in safety: - the hydraulic barrier is activated only if the well is killed - the mechanical barrier is composed of: The valves of the Xmas tree The packer, the tubing hanger, the tubing spool valves Casing and tubing. Circulating plug wireline, closed SCSSV • Assembling/disarming the Xmas tree: - The hydraulic barrier = the completion fluid - The mechanical barrier: The packer, the tubing hanger, the tubing spool valves Tubing and casing The SCSSV valve closed, and the BPV valve in the tubing hanger • Arming/disarming the BOP: - The hydraulic barrier = the completion fluid (after having killed the well and performed the conditioning circulation). - The mechanical barrier: The tubing hanger, the tubing spool valves, (the packer if it is seated) Tubing and casing The SCSSV valve closed, and the BPV valve in the tubing hanger.
