In this case, let's draw inspiration from the essence of bidding farewell and moving forward. 🎶 As we reflect on our IP management journeys, we may encounter instances where our endeavors haven't yielded the expected results. Much like bidding farewell, we may find ourselves parting ways with strategies or approaches that didn't quite hit the mark. Just as in the lyrics of Kiss and Say Goodbye, there's a recognition that sometimes we must acknowledge the end of a chapter and embrace the opportunity for new beginnings. 💡 However, amidst the acknowledgment of setbacks, there's an important lesson to be learned. People often call us and almost apologise that the situation they need help with isn't a pleasant one. Situations needing mediation are rarely positive to start with - people don't tend to ask for mediation because they're really happy with each other! It’s amazing how many times clients will say “you won’t have dealt with anything like this before”. What they forget is I’ve been dealing with disputes for almost three decades and I can’t imagine there’s much that I haven’t seen before - I will write a book one day 😀 I've dealt with some very prickly situations (from disputes between two people through to national strikes) and some really prickly people. Most people don’t get out of bed wanting to be horrible, they’re usually passionate and frustrated - as mediators our job is to tap into that and help two or more frustrated people talk, listen and understand each other. Once they do that they find solutions! Do you have one of those “you’ll never have seen anything this bad before” situations?
