In September, The Johns Hopkins Hospital welcomed congressional staff members and agency officials for an immersive, hands-on experience designed to highlight the critical impact of federal investment in graduate medical education (GME). The annual event showcases our central role in training the next generation of clinicians and researchers.
During the visit, participants engaged with clinicians, trainees and medical experts, gaining a comprehensive understanding of current trends and future challenges in health care workforce development. Attendees participated in a variety of immersive activities, including emergency response skills, CPR and lifesaving interventions for young patients, robot-assisted and minimally invasive surgery, live birthing simulations and airway management techniques, critical for saving lives.
