HR: “Hello, I am calling from Big4. Am I talking to Mr [name]?” Candidate: *Heart beats getting faster “Yes, speaking. Thanks for calling me!” HR: “This is in relation to TP profile you have applied for, do you have prior articleship experience in TP?” Candidate: “No, but I have opted optional in international tax, have done additional courses about practical applications of TP and have well rounded theoretical knowledge!” HR: “Well, great! I will get back to you” Candidate: “Thank you” And…Knowing fully well the call shall never come back! In posts like TP, M&A, FDD even references don’t work. If we don’t have hands on project how is it possible to have experience. Let’s assume the fresher makes mistakes in deliverables, isn’t it true that even if there is experience in a certain field people still make mistakes! To err is to human, but a person who puts 100% effort doesn’t get a chance is never an absolute utilisation of resource. I hope someday corporates understands this.
