I never post but I had to congratulate my team for a Record Breaking February (Variable and Fixed)! They absolutely crushed it and I couldn’t be more proud of them for embracing the change. For those in the market with excuses…keep them. I dont want to hear about high rates, inventory shortages, difficulty acquiring used cars, high payments, etc. My response to all the excuses is to ADAPT! The car maket will always be about 3 things in my opinion. 1. Take care of the customer. 2. Take care of the employees. 3. Sell/Service the car. Also…FIX YOUR USED CAR DEPARTMENT! If you or whoever you have in charge of used vehicles isn’t keeping up with trade penetrations, stocking what you’re selling, inventory turns, avg RO, avg investment amount, and exit strategies then sit down and have a conversation. These questions and answers should be a topic of discussion daily. Now let’s get ready for March.

Gratitude Friday! I want to thank the company Continental. 🙏🏻 I have worked for a division of Continental, ContiTech, for a little over eight years. Throughout those years I have seen several employees leave, and then come back. Like every company there are things that are frustrating, but where it matters, although they may not always get it right, in my belief they are always willing to listen. They also aren’t afraid of changing to get it right. As an employee of this great company, they have great support for their divisions. Especially from a people standpoint. I have worked for 🤔 12… 12 companies prior to finding a place that stuck, so I would say I have a little bit of authority. And this was 12 companies from the time I was 16 until I was 33, so average change once every 1.5 years. That’s a lot of change but also a lot of experience in different systems. This one has been the best, for several reasons. 🥸 They promote a culture where you can be yourself. There are many different personalities within the organization that help make a great team. Also they are globally connected, helping me learn about different cultures and I have grown a lot in the last eight years. 📚They have a continuous learning culture. They push you to learn and continue to learn, and have a Massive Open Learning a platform as well as a globally structured training development program. 🙂 I dare say they care about you. You can tell the tree from its fruit, and you can’t just say things, you need to be able to put it into action. While execution is not always easy, you can see the effort is there. While calling out the company and thanking Continental is not really who I am thanking, it is all of the people over all of the eight years that I have been here that make it a wonderful experience. It is possible I have met hundreds possibly thousands of people that have had an impact in my career.
