CA & OR Child Therapy Practice Owner | Child Anxiety & OCD Specialist | Parent Consultant | Licensed Clinician | Mental Health & Wellness Trainer
🌟 Celebrating Raising Brave Kids New Portland, Oregon Location! 🌟 I've dedicated over two decades to being a child therapist, often working within someone else's vision or dream. When I launched Raising Brave Kids, I envisioned a place that truly reflected my passion—a space where my vision & experience could be at the forefront in advancing child mental health. 🚀 Taking the leap to build something from the ground up and trusting yourself can be both thrilling & terrifying. As therapists, we are trained to take a back seat, to keep our voices quiet, and just be along for the ride. But we need more visionary leadership in child mental health. Our world is reeling, and our kids are holding so much at huge costs. 💔 The unfortunate trend right now is that many clinicians (through burnout or lack of inspiration & training) are trending away from working with our youngest populations. My phone rings constantly with parents desperate to find providers as available evidenced based treatment for young children is sparse. I want to change this. 💪 Being brave means being authentically Me, in every way, something I am honored every day to help little human souls find their own path in. It's never easy to sit in the messiness of transformation, but after decades of this work and knowing we have an enormous child mental health crisis, playing small is not an option. 📢 So today I announce that Raising Brave Kids is a multi-state child therapy practice (California & Oregon) with a beautiful new location in one of Portland's most vibrant neighborhoods. With four offices and a multi-purpose room for groups, I'm planning for growth. I'm planning for big. And I'm so excited to see what unfolds in this space for kids and families in the Portland Metro Area. And also, WE'RE HIRING! 🎉 https://lnkd.in/grfDpYRC #Entrepreneurship #ChildTherapy #MentalHealth #PortlandBusiness #RaisingBraveKids #GrowthMindset #Hiring Learn more about Raising Brave Kids: www.raisingbravekids.com

Supporting Working Parents Globally for 25 Years | Sleep & Parenting Expert @ Sleep Well With Hannah | Best Selling Author C.A.L.M Approach to Baby Sleep | Registered Nurse | Nutritional Therapist | Working Mummy of 3
🌟 This week marks a significant milestone as all the ‘lockdown babies’ head off to school. Little do they know, these amazing children have transformed my life in ways I never could have imagined. Reflecting on my career journey, I see it in three phases: 1️⃣ Pre-Oliver: Before my first son, Oliver, was born in 2008, I was dedicated to gaining experience and education. I completed my paediatric nursing and nutrition degrees, traveled the world as a high-profile nanny, and worked in hospitals supporting families. 2️⃣ Becoming a Sleep Specialist: Once Oliver arrived, my career naturally took a path to focus on sleep consulting, helping hundreds of families one-to-one navigate sleepless nights (24/7) while raising my own children. Being a business owner and a mummy wasn’t easy but I juggled it well. 3️⃣ The Impact of 2020: When the pandemic hit, the need for support skyrocketed. With no postnatal services or walk-in clinics available, I found myself inundated with requests for help. It was clear that the ‘lockdown babies’ needed me more than ever. To adapt, I enrolled in a transformative course with the amazing Lisa Johnson shifting my business model from one-to-one consultations to one-to-many. I launched my community, expanded my social media presence, and even wrote a book. Today, Sleep Well with Hannah has grown to a point where my husband and I are both working full-time in the business, providing for our family and making a real difference in the lives of others. I couldn't be prouder of how far we've come. As these ‘lockdown babies’ embark on their school journey, I want to take a moment to acknowledge the profound impact they’ve had on my life and my work. I hope they’ve had a fantastic week, and I want all families to know that I’m still here, ready to support you whenever you need me. 💖 #SleepConsultant #LockdownBabies #FamilySupport #Entrepreneurship #Community #Transformation #onetomany

Center for American Entrepreneurship president John Dearie and vice chair Leslie Lynn Smith have written about the crisis of American #childcare and its relevance to American entrepreneurs twice -- in April of 2021 (https://lnkd.in/ey7EAgzM) and in November of last year (https://lnkd.in/eQBsdXvj). Now American #entrepreneurs are innovating to solve the problem themselves. "The $60 billion child care industry has long been ripe for disruption. More than half of all children — particularly those from low- and middle-income, Hispanic and rural communities — live in a child care desert, an area where there are too few licensed slots for the number of children who need care. The crunch only got worse last fall, as the last of $24 billion in pandemic-era funding for child care expired. The solution is simple: quality, reliable, searchable data -- which is a given in many wealthy industrialized countries, where the state oversees, and often pays for, child care. But in the United States, where you can find nearly anything in seconds online, most child care centers don’t even have a website. Only about 40 percent of providers have a website — and only a fraction of those are maintained or updated. But the challenges of imposing order on a messy, fragmented U.S. system have deterred many venture capitalists with a taste for fast growth. For one, aggregating existing data is grueling. Licensing regulations vary from state to state, which makes it hard to build one national system that caters to parents everywhere. Furthermore, there’s no repository for the information most valuable to parents: How much does care cost? What hours are centers open? Which providers have open spots? "Childcare is the wild west,” said Laura Weeldreyer, executive director of the Maryland Family Network (MFN), a nonprofit that serves parents and child care providers. “Enrollment data, price data, attendance data — all the things you need to know — don’t exist.” #Startups are now working to bring the search for child care into the digital age. But while startup-provided databases can solve the problem of information, it remains unclear whether they can budge the elephant in the room for parents — cost. According to the Treasury Department, an average family with at least one child under five must spend 13 percent of their income to pay for high-quality child care. Meanwhile, child care workers earn on average just $27,000 a year. But what the new databases can do is show parents that there are more options than they knew about. And governments employing these systems are optimistic that the data won’t just showcase existing availability, but also help create new market opportunities where they are most needed." https://lnkd.in/eFjY_ZZk
Start-ups aim to fix ‘broken market’ for child care

Shedding light on the challenges of the early post-partum period 💖| Helping you heal with confidence to find joy in motherhood🫶🏽| Toddler mom |
Some of you will unfollow me after reading this 🫣 You can't advocate for motherhood while also accusing other moms of being: •"Stuck-up" for breastfeeding their children long after their 1st birthday. •"Martyrs" for prioritizing their marriage and family. •"Extra" for cooking fresh and nutritious meals for their kids daily. •"Pretentious" for choosing to have unmedicated homebirths. •"Slaves" for relying financially on their husbands. We all have different circumstances. I am not judging you for feeding your kid formula. I am not judging you for being a career driven woman and making big bucks. I am not judging you for feeding your kid uncrustables. I am not judging you for getting an epidural. I am not judging you for earning money or even earning more money than your spouse. Don't judge me either, or women like me. In fact, not only am I not judging you but I am celebrating you and your relentless ambition to do it all. If you will advocate for motherhood, that includes all mothers... the ones that are like you and the ones that are not. It seems like all motherhood "advocacy" I see these days is just about shaming other moms and creating even more division. P.S.- I am not empowered by career driven women telling me not to pursue a masters degree if I "just plan to stay home" because my degree then "would go to waste". Stay at home mommying requires lots of education too 💅🏼. Thoughts?

here’s the real deal. curious if other twin moms agree OR if other mamas notice these things. Top five things I’ve noticed: 1. HOW THE WORLD ISNT MADE FOR TWO BABIES. Grocery carts, play groups, swimming lessons, strollers, daycare … A lot of things can be adapted for multiple kids in an age range but very few things allow for two babies/infants. It can feel limiting if you let it. (Thankful for @twingocarrier ) 2. Everyone talks about how the schedule is a must. One wakes up, wake the other one up etc. That I expected; but what I didn’t expect how EMOTIONALLY difficult it is for me. I have mom guilt EVERY TIME I force awake a newly asleep baby just so she can “match wake windows”. It doesn’t seem fair they can’t be “their own” baby. 3. How often I think. HOW AM I GOING TO ____. “Normal” tasks aren’t as simple when there’s two. Naps on the go, feeding out in public, loading into the car, giving a bath, SOOTHING YOUR BABY ... it’s a learning curve with one and with two it feels like always another step to overcome. But with that… 4. How much we have ADAPTED as a family. It was a big change not going to lie but seven months in and we’ve learnt our systems, we’ve built our community, we rely on eachother, we have our tools. 5. How 50% off really means you’re just paying a “normal” price. Thanks for joining the party 🤎🤎🤎🤎🤎 Thank you : @jazzyebes . . . . . #TwinMomRealities #TwinParentingInsights #TwinMomLife #TwinMomStruggles #TwinMomChallenges #TwinMomGuilt #TwinLifeAdaptations #TwinParentingJourney #TwinLifeChallenges #TwinMomCommunity #TwinMomSupport #TwinMomTips #TwinParentingTips #TwinParentingHacks #TwinParentingRealities #TwinParentingAdaptations #TwinParentingTools

The most common question I have been asked since the birth of my twins is “How do you identify who’s who among your twins”. Initially when they looked different, I used to flaunt my answer- I just know by seeing them. I’m the mother. It was such a pride answering that, just can’t deny 🙈 But now when they almost look the same. My updated Answer - By their different personalities and attitude which is completely opposite. Currently- One is Sassy whereas the other one is too sweet . Let’s see how they are next week/ month/year ! 🤣 Having Twins may sound so fascinating but it’s nothing like what we have heard from everyone . At least Everything that I heard was just misconception. It’s equal to raising two individual babies. It’s the best thing for sure but it does come with Terms & Conditions ( all set by your own creations- your babies). I want to thank few pages @allaboutwins @twinsandmultiples @twiniversity which proved to be so helpful for me and helped me to find answers to almost all my questions , also helped me with twin hacks & twin specialised products. I never thought that I would find so many twin parents through these pages and learn so much each day with all their twin related content. Looking forward to reap more benefits in the future as well from these pages. I would recommend them to all twin parents , in fact even singleton parents would also relate to them as I just told you twins are equal to two different babies altogether.
