Here is what it says: Entrepreneur: Taylor Olsen Tilt: Fitness and health Scene: TikTok (776.9K), Instagram (105K), YouTube (66K), podcast (One Thing About Us w/ Sam Taylor) Snack Bites: Taylor found success as a fitness influencer on TikTok and made it her full-time job. Her work was disrupted after someone criticized her response to another video, and thousands stopped following her. A complaint led to a six-month account freeze at TikTok. Taylor ended up deciding she wanted the stability and structure a regular 9-to-5 job provides and got hired as a social media manager. While working full time elsewhere, she also continues her content business, which remains her largest source of income. Why We Stan: Taylor didn’t want to be beholden to third-party platforms like TikTok and Instagram. So, she carved out a new path that allows her to have the benefits of being both a content entrepreneur and a full-time employee. My Take: For many, success is often measured by the number of followers, likes, and views they accumulate. The reality of “going viral” 👇🏼 Ok it has its benefits if you’re growing a brand that you desire to collaborate with organisations and companies on deals, sponsorships and affiliate opportunities……like with the TikTok Creator Program. HOWEVER If you are growing your socials for product or service based sales, 1 of 2 things will happen…. 👉🏼 It either won’t make a difference to your bottom line or 👉🏼 You will need continued “virality” for growth. It’s a totally unstable business model. Sustainable growth than focuses on value, community and engagement is the only way to build your business effectively on social media. When you do that, “going viral” becomes a bonus, rather than a requirement / hopefulness of sales 🙌🏼 P.S. If you don’t like Bluey, we can’t be friends 🙃
