Even if I don't get to the decison-maker right away, or I don't close or book something over the phone right away, I still very much value having a conversation because it helps me to do a couple things: 1. Practice tonality 2. Ask qualifying questions 3. Overcome objections Having a low connect rate at previous roles was one of the main reasons I struggled in the beginning of my sales development journey. If you're not having conversations, you can't improve your skills. So I'm definitely choosing to focus on just getting someone on the other line. Maybe in the next year I'll focus on something else, but for now, just hearing the voice of a prospect (and not a voicemail) is what I'm aiming for. On LinkedIn, especially in Tech Sales, it's so easy to get swamped with a feed where people are just posting numbers of where they are crushing it. Vin is one of the people you must follow to understand the highs and the lows of sales and how to get through them. Super genuine, incredibly transparent, and a determined person in the sales industry. Would recommend checking him out on YouTube! #3 Adam Butts - Adam is a Senior BDR alongside me here at Creyos. Over the past few quarters he demonstrated several reasons why he's incredible at what he does, but what stood out to me during Q1 2024 is his persistence and mindset. He would have a rocky start to the month but always powered through and so far ended January 2024 at 120% and February 2024 at 106% of his target. Keep crushing it brother!
