Step into my office.. 🖥
I always think a consultant's desk gives you a window into their world. I spend a good portion of my weeks here, so this year I've started making my desk a home for all things that make me happy and motivated. Some items for sentimental reasons, some for practical, and others just to make me smile.
Item 1: Randstad merchandise
I am a complete sucker for merch. Our company has a pretty cool logo, and I like keeping some handy for when the occasion calls for it. Hats are the flavour of the month (its so hot in South Australia at the moment)
Item 2: Big water bottle
First to admit I don't drink enough water in the day. This big fella is going to change all that! (Aiming for 2 a day, currently achieving 1 and a bit)
Item 3: Funko Pop crew
Led by Police Chief Wiggum, a few of my favourite TV personalities who safeguard the cash on my desk (coffee van man loves cash).
Item 4: Mini fridge
Good for x1 can of beer to keep on ice for the end of the week. Currently empty, soon to be replenished.
Item 5: Airpods
Always on charge, replaced x3 times because I cannot go back to holding a phone anymore, those days are over.
Item 6: Big fat calculator
The Canon WS-121OT calculator which I have been using since I started with Randstad in Aus. Easily 30yrs old, never failed me.
Item 7: Framed Charlton Athletic shirt
A reminder of my boyhood dream to wear the number 7 shirt for my team the Addicks. There was of course no chance of this happening, I am awful at football. Reminds me of home.
Of course the great team I have around me makes my place of work a place I enjoy coming to. I'm keen to get some inspiration from my network on what desk items you have that make your workstation one you enjoy coming to.

1moGotta luv #square. A call in customer requested a new pool light fixture to be installed. I installed the exact same fixture The customer had previously. It even came with a manufacturers warranty card. Six weeks after the date of install, the customer calls square and said item not as described and disputed the thousand dollar credit card charge. I get an email from Square wanting documentation. I literally furnish all of the documents and I still lost. How is this even possible not to mention how is it legal? Square literally took the thousand dollars out of my account immediately. Hats off to #square
