COL20 double offset butterfly valve for flue gas applications. Double offset butterfly valve are widely known as high performance valves. COL20 is particularly suited for low pressure flue gas where there is no need to use ANSI 150 or PN10 rated valves, and where total tightness is required for temperatures up to 260°C. GOING THAT EXTRA STEP Hello Team, Customer called in this morning looking for a B166 Corken 1" bypass valve like the one pictured. He has this valve currently and wants to replace it. Well, Corken quit putting Teflon in their B166 valves, so everyone he spoke to wanted to sell him a $1300 Kalrez fitted B166 valve. B166 with Kalrez o-rings--3 O-rings in this valve. Well, the Buna (propane) version of this valve is about $300. Some-how he found his way to my phone. After looking at the picture, I asked him a few questions. What is going through the valve? R152A Refrigerant. I knew that we put Neoprene in our Corken compressors that we use for refrigerants all the time. R134A R12. After looking up R152 and consulting with Corken engineering, we quoted the B166 valve with neoprene elastomers for $300. That will work like a champ. **Sometimes you do not need a Cadillac to pull a cattle trailer. The shortest path is not always the best path to take. Just staying practical at GEC.
