A busy October! As I write this, I am back in the beautiful city of Dubai, before heading further West to Miami to attend the PEMA Autumn Meeting on 10-11 October. Then it’s on to another exciting discussion, in Miami, before flying to Panama where Trent and one of its strategic global partners, will be co-exhibiting at the TOC Americas event on 17-19 October. When all done, it will be time to head home, with a short stop-off in North Florida to spend a few days with my sister and brother-in-law. So, with a busy, but very exciting October schedule in place, I turn my attention to the PEMA (Port Equipment Manufacturers Association) event, where I have been very kindly asked to speak once again. The PEMA events are particularly interesting and invigorating, as it presents a real opportunity to interact, discuss and engage with a variety of equipment and component manufacturers, all aimed at keeping our beloved port industry at the top of its game. With technology at the forefront of so many discussions today, it cannot be ignored. There is not much we do today at Trent, that does not involve a deep discussion around Ai, Digital Twins, and a variety of other technologies. Following our recent webinar in the US, with support from ALN, focused on Ai, Digital Twins, governed by Asset Management, it's time to make that link to the equipment and component manufacturers and their ultimate end users, highlight the data value chain, and showcase the ‘value loop’ if everyone played from the same book. We are living in interesting times for sure, and whilst technology seems to know no bounds, we must ensure the human side of it all does not get left too far behind in silos, thwarting and stalling progress. #digitaltransformation #assetmanagement #PEMA #Ports #Equipment
