I see so many people make this mistake when choosing their career. It's why they are miserable. It's not their career. People choose their career based on: ↳ parents ↳ friends ↳ family ↳ society ↳people they know but who aren't even their friends The only one you should base your career on is you. What are your goals? What is your purpose? What do you want? What do you see yourself doing? At the end of the day, it's your life. Other people aren't living it. And they sure aren't paying your bills. A high paying career isn't worth it if it's not the one you ultimately wanted.
