I was at a rave in Chicago last night with 10 of my best friends. At one point in the night, two friends and I left the middle of the dance floor to go to the side so we could have more space to move and dance freely. As we were dancing, I said to my friend Patrick: "No one realizes this, but the way to actually attract girls at a party like this is to vibe and dance freely in your own energy and have them magnetize to you." 20 minutes later, in divinely comical timing, this exact situation manifested. Two cute girls around our age walked over to us, started to hold eye contact and smile, and hoped we’d start talking to them. I was laughing the entire time it was happening. And it reaffirmed an incredibly valuable lesson: The people who everyone wants to dance with are those who can dance on their own. Dancing can also mean creating a project, course, community, school, or program, holding the frame of authenticity, self-expression, and freedom, and creating an open invitation for others to come dance and play with you. This is the essence of magnetism. This is the essence of true abundance. This is the essence of raising your internal frequency and aura to a point where you don't have to chase clients, prospects, friendships, opportunities, or girls and instead have them gravitate towards your energetic field. This is the next evolution of business and the creator economy. This is how you get paid to self-actualize and become the fullest expression of yourself. Storytime! Get your popcorn 🍿 Being bedridden from pneumonia has me thinking about a lot of things and I wanted to share a little story with you. A few years ago I helped work on a film that featured Morgan Freeman. On a sunny California day - his script for a particular scene suddenly changed (one which we were already set up for, oof 😅). Morgan, being the salt of the earth kind of guy that he is, rolled with it. He asked for some time, took 2 hours in his trailer and memorized those lines like I’ve never seen anyone pull off before. I was struck by his professionalism. His ability to trust himself was out of this world. It wasn’t arrogance. Not in the slightest. It was a quiet confidence. It was crystal clear to me that this had happened to him many times before in his career. He didn’t put up a fuss, he knew he’d get it done. He did. He nailed those lines on the first take. He was calm, collected and everything you’d imagine Morgan Freeman to be, it was simply magical to witness first hand. Watching the footage back in the edit room was as if he had months and months in rehearsal, but we knew the truth. So why am I telling you this and how does it matter to your world? 🤷🏼♀️⁉️ Well, friends, the times they are a changing (thanks Bob). Just like Morgan knew 100+ crew and talent were there for his scene that day, he could have crumbled under the pressure, but he rose above it instead. Sometimes the weight of the world might be on your shoulders, but it’s how you respond that makes the difference. Your strategic plans may change abruptly this year. What you thought you knew to be true a year ago, isn’t quite the case this year. Adapting to anything new can be daunting and most are inclined to shy away at the challenge or have all their immediate fears and insecurities bubble to the surface. There’s truly something to be said about ‘quiet confidence’ and even in moments of uncertainty, we can quietly know we’ve done hard things before, and confidently know we can do it again. I am always inspired and encouraged by people going through enormous change who can swiftly adapt. At the end of the day, the lesson here is that people trust people who trust themselves, and ultimately that’s where the magic happens.
