2024 F1 driver race numbers: Who uses what number and why? https://lnkd.in/ehak_3We All Formula 1 drivers choose a permanent race number with which they use throughout their F1 career and only the reigning world champion is allowed to change numbers. But which drivers use what number and what is the story behind their choice? The championship introduced this fixed race number concept in 2014 to increase the recognition of the drivers on the track for the fans. In previous years, the starting numbers were handed out based on the final ranking in the previous world championship standings. Now only the world champion for the new season can choose to change his number: he gets the offer to replace the permanent number with the #1. All other drivers must stick to their chosen number. Behind the choice of each number there's a story for many drivers. It could be their lucky number or they have special memories of the number. This article lists all the numbers for the 2024 Formula 1 season and the explanations behind them.

🚦 LIGHTS OUT AND AWAY WE GO! 🚦 Rev up your engines, racing enthusiasts, because Netflix just dropped the 6th season of the adrenaline-pumping docuseries, Formula 1: Drive To Survive! Buckle up for a wild ride as this may be the best season yet of the mega docuseries that basically started Netflix in the sports TV business. While Dutch racer Max Verstappen and Red Bull absolutely dominated the circuits this past F1 season, with Verstappen's fiery triumph in 19 out of 22 races, you would think this show would be a dud. On the contrary! Executive Producer James Gay-Rees assures us that despite the Red Bull spectacle, there's more than meets the eye – the fight for second, third, and fourth is a rollercoaster in itself! Not to mention the teams trying like hell to avoid being at the bottom of the constructor team standings as well! I can attest that this is case as I have already binged all 10 episodes since it's release this past Friday --- and I wish I had more to watch!! (It has become my highest rated show of 2024, thus far -- by a nice margin). The show recaps the wild and turbulent 2023 campaign, that saw drivers change seats, racing squads make leaps and team principals get fired. Expect a pit stop with familiar faces like Daniel Ricciardo, who adds a dash of bubbly personality to the mix. Hold on tight as you are going full speed from the revved-up opening episode and with surprises cameos from old and new faces throughout. Season 6 is a roaring success, proving that even when Red Bull dominates, the show's engines are still firing on all cylinders. With rumors of a different approach for Season 7, Formula 1: Drive To Survive remains a high-octane journey that keeps you on the edge of your seat. Don't miss out – this season is a checkered flag winner from start to finish! 🏁🏁🏁 *** #Netflix #F1 #Formula1 #DriveToSurvive #Docuseries #Sports #Racing Red Bull Racing & Red Bull Technology Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS Formula One Team Ferrari McLaren Racing Aston Martin F1 Team Alpine Williams Racing Scuderia AlphaTauri F1 Team Alfa Romeo F1 MoneyGram Haas F1 Team Lewis Hamilton Charles Leclerc Fernando Alonso Lando Norris Pierre GASLY Will Buxton

I used to be a F1-fan, or more specifically, fan of Michael Schumacher, I watched most of his races after he switched to the Ferrari team. That time, one thing that always amazed me, aside from Schumacher (he retired in 2012), was the F1 pitstop. During that time, the average time taken for the pitstop crew to change 4 tyres was about 9 seconds. Isn’t that amazing? Because when I go change tyre in tyre shop, they can’t even do it in 9 minutes (after deducting the time to do alignment and balancing, which wasn’t needed for F1 race etc). How is it possible to do it any faster than 9 seconds.. right? Today, the F1 teams are doing it under 2 seconds! Change all 4 tyres in under 2 seconds. The thing is… To go from 9s to under 2s, someone has to believe that it can be done first, before someone figure out the exact how. And certainly, the person who believed that it can be done cannot be an idiot, it has to be based on a theory that is plausible. And how does one come up with that theory? By knowledge, wisdom and sound reasoning. Plus the courage to take action and embrace failures and friction in between. So the next time you think that something is “impossible”, just bear in mind that someone out there may already have a theory on how to make it possible. So then, what would you do next?

One minute you're on top, the next...BOOM. Life's twists and turns can be brutal. Even the most dominant players can hit roadblocks. Case in point: Formula 1 reigning champion Max Verstappen was forced into an early retirement from the Australian Grand Prix due to a mechanical failure. No matter how skilled or successful – in racing or in business – setbacks are inevitable. The key is not letting those setbacks define you. True champions regroup, learn from the experience, and come back stronger. This kind of resilience is what makes all the difference! When have you faced a sudden setback in your career? How did you overcome it and push forward? #setbackssuccess #competition #drive https://lnkd.in/gNu49uUU
