Perhaps most critical, it focused on missiles with a very short range and has yet, after five years been able to meld it all together to detect, identify, engage and sink a moving warship. It has failed to lay out a template on how to achieve an overlapping and continues belt stretching the distance of the first island chain or redeploy forces to adjust for the maneuver options available to Chinese ships if you wish to herd them into kill zones."

Over the past six months, the SOF Bridges Survey has gathered 182 responses from Australian participants - self reported. The focus was on weapons and BOP exposure (normally above 2022 US Interim Guidance of 4 PSI Max Overpeak Pressure). While the results align with expectations, we were surprised by the higher-than-anticipated numbers from combatives, parachuting, and platform accidents. We also extended the survey by two weeks to allow High-Risk Group Associations/Trusts to support their members’ participation. As we gather the raw data, we look forward to sharing detailed findings like the one below. Exposed to highly saline water and extreme wet/dry cycles, they provide a real-world demonstration of #Caltite’s durability. The Results: In 1985, after 17 years of tidal exposure immersion cycles at elevated temperatures, core samples were tested to measure chloride penetration: ✅ Compared to surface levels - chloride penetration reduced by 84% in the 10–25mm zone. ✅ Beyond this depth, 100% reduction in chloride penetration. ✅ No corrosion of embedded reinforcement or significant surface erosion, even after prolonged exposure. ✅ Calculated Chloride Diffusion Coefficient: 10.1 x 10-13 Minimizing Risk in Restricted Areas: ✅ Where access is restricted due to sensitive defence operations, the reduced need for maintenance means fewer “boots on the ground.” ✅ Improving safety, minimizing disruptions to critical activities and lowering overall lifecycle costs. I’m back! I’ve survived Hurricane Debbie, am recovering from my sickness, and am nearly back to full operating capacity. And just in time. It’s been a doozy of a week. Ukraine surprised Russia, invading the Kursk region in what is either a turning movement or potential attempt to gain leverage should they be forced to the negotiating table sooner than not. Shipbuilding is the new front in strategic competition between China and the West. South Korea is leading the charge in investing into this critical capability for the rest of us. Canada wants in on some of that action as well. And we’ve finally launched the last of the Littoral Combat Ships, which we’ve also already begun decommissioning. The Middle East remains a hotbed of activity, preventing resources from heading to the strategically critical areas of responsibility such as in Europe and the IndoPacific. Will we ever be able to divest our combat footprints there? No. Not likely. Anduril, unsurprisingly, announced their latest capital raise—a staggering $1.5Bn at a $14Bn valuation. Much of that raise is earmarked for a new, vertically-integrated manufacturing facility. Watch for more commentary on that soon.
