The life we pour into our children in the early stages can make all the difference in both their lives and the lives of others. But what happens when disability touches those early days when parents, caregivers, and the church community are unsure of what is best? We invite you to attend our Global Access Community Event hosted online on February 27th, from 9-11:45 a.m. PST to hear from our keynote speaker, Matthew Mooney, and a panel of experts as they give guidance on navigating the joys and difficulties of disability in the early stages of life. Matthew Mooney and his wife Ginny received a Trisomy 18 diagnosis when they were 30 weeks pregnant with their son, Eliot, who lived for 99 days. Matthew’s journey is one of deep love and learning, and he shared his story in the book A Story Unfinished. Learn more and register today at https://lnkd.in/g4bymFps

On World Prematurity Day, we want to provide our support and respect to families who are going through this moment. Our premature children are warriors and teach us a lot about life. But we also highlight not only the challenges faced by babies born prematurely, but also the emotional impact experienced by mothers and families. When a baby is born prematurely, he needs intensive care, it is a challenging and extremely fragile experience, marked by uncertainty and constant worries. In these cases, Therapeutic Support (TC) can be an essential source of support during this period, helping mothers and family members to deal with fear, anxiety and emotional exhaustion. If you or someone you know is going through this, know that emotional support makes all the difference and we are with you right now! #WorldPrematurityDay #TherapeuticMonitoring #EmotionalCare #MaternalHealth

Bravos for Jacqueline Duda It seems to me vital that patients and their families get involved and take ownership - so to speak - of Sepsis. They are the ones who suffer, even if intensive care work can also be tough. 🔥Sepsis is the body's "desperate" response to an infection it considers threatening. All organs fail to a greater or lesser extent. 🔥Sepsis is often very sudde going from a banal infection to "something else" without realizing it at first. It's an emergency => intensive care (ICU), often life-saving (20-50% mortality). But there is no specific treatment for sepsis. Sepsis is one of the leading causes of mortality, suffering (of families, loved ones, recovering) and healthcare cost. (20% of worldwide mortality, 0.5% of US GDP, 0.3% linked to hospitalization in intensive care and convalescence for long months/weeks). The incredible pain of recovery was highlighted by a very brave survivor 🔥Furthermore, sepsis let you with long months of recovery and many sequelae are common. https://lnkd.in/eqsKy3_S #Sepsis in terms of societal impact: e.g. number of deaths, loss of quality of life, personal and public costs= #cancer =#cardiovasculardisease #sepsis is an #emmergency such as # infarct #stroke #esicm #sscm #surviving-sepsis #WeAreICU #CriticalCare #IntensiveCare #WorldSepsisDay #SepsisAwareness #ResearchMatters #Healthcare #sepsiseducation #sepsisinnovation #curesepsis
