#Networking: A Love-Hate Relationship 🙃 This might come as a surprise, but I have to confess—I’m not a fan of traditional networking. The stuffy suits, the overwhelming atmosphere, and the room full of "please hire me" energy just isn't my vibe. We all know that connections matter, but often, we overlook the value of our former colleagues who have become friends—and the incredible networks they bring with them. I'm not going to turn this post into anything it doesn't need to be so, let’s cut to the chase: Make those connections! Bring your friends to work events, introduce colleagues to one another, and keep in touch with old teammates. When we unite our networks, we create an organic community of support and opportunity. Life is easier when we help each other and a simple "come to dinner with my colleagues" can open the door for endless possibilities. Let this post serve as your reminder to lift each other up and make networking a rewarding experience! 🥂
Had a chance to catch up with this lovely group recently. Grateful to still be friends with these humans—professional acquaintances that grew into friends, spanning multiple employers and clients, plenty of shenanigans, and more than one mocktail or alcoholic beverage. It's exciting and fun to be part of a hot startup, but these friendships—which range from between 5 to 23 years—are the best part of the journey 💜 Okay, I'm done being sentimental. Now back to your originally scheduled sarcasm 😂 cc: Haidee LeClair, Herbert C. Hall (he/him), Julie Fantasia, Lauren Tringali, Jeff Boehm, Chris Wade

Co-Founder Couples Therapist (professionally known as a Co-Founder Coach) helping resolve tension and align vision to accelerate growth 🚀 Expert in setting up + exiting partnerships 🚀 Also LUNA + LION agency Co-Founder
When's the last time you really thought about what makes you a strong team? I know talking about Co-Founder partnerships is kinda my thing, but I genuinely find it SO interesting and refreshing to discuss it with friends who run businesses. I totally agree with Zak Walters' points and if you a get a mo today, take stock of the strengths in your partnership and give your Co-Founder a shout out. And if you like wine, check these guys out. Vinca Wine are smashing it 👏 #cofounders #founder #businesscoaching #executivecoaching #leadership
Co-founder of Vinca Wine - Multi award-winning organic canned wine now served onboard #britishairways
Had a great dinner with Nicki Coe this week, chatting all things Vinca Wine, LUNA + LION, and talking at length about being a co-founder! Did you know 65% of startups fail because of co-founder fallout? I had no idea it was that high and I am glad that me, Jack and Charlie get on so well. I think we’ve got it figured out because: 1. We’ve been friends since school, so there’s a ton of history and trust that makes handling challenges way easier. 2. We each bring different skills to the table, no one’s stepping on toes or trying to do the same job. We leave all the wine decisions to Jack! 3. And honestly, there’s just a huge amount of trust between us. We’ve got each other’s backs, which keeps things steady and moving forward. Thanks for the great convo, Nicki, always a win to chat with someone who really gets the co-founder life. Have a great weekend all!

BREAKING CHAINS DIARIES In the past 10 years or so I worked with and advised many founders Some of my friends became founders too And I’ve seen many startup stories unroll real time And I’ve seen many startups fail too… Because let’s be fair - most of them do It’s often against the odds for them to succeed anyway… There are different reasons for failure And one of them - I’ve seen quite often is: Conflicts between co-founders Leading to a point where they decide to split Those issues usually impacted the business And the split often killed it That’s probably why when me and Rick (@unl0c7) decided to work on Breaking Chains together we had a call to talk about our values Fundamental values not only in business but also in life Because I am convinced that if your values don’t align It’s just a matter of time when you won’t be able to work together anymore It’s hard to predict when that moment will come, but it’s almost always inevitable. Since Breaking Chains is already out there you can probably guess how did our conversation go.…

Warning: Shameless Plug incoming! Caveat: Personal views only, I do not represent my employer in any way. My best mate of almost 40 years, and master stone mason, Tim O'Shea of Rotary Stone Restorations, has just released his first product, RS Benchtops Cream Cleanser. Tim has honed his formula after thousands of hours of experiments on every type of stain on every type of stone benchrop you can imagine. He has come up with a forumla unlike any others - and it shows in the results. If you have a stone benchtop, you'll definitely also have cream cleanser (or a dirty benchtop). If so, consider giving this Aussie startup's product a go. https://lnkd.in/dQzUM6vn

Being an accountant is hard 👇 At Rho, we’ve acknowledged many of the deep-seated pain points we've heard directly from accountants—talent shortages, bad technology, lack of relationships—and addressed them through a dedicated platform. One that not only makes their lives easier, but those of their clients as well. For us, accountants do some of the most meaningful work that helps the startup ecosystem thrive, so the status quo just doesn’t work anymore. At Rho, we're changing that. It makes my job so much easier building for accountants at Rho knowing that they understand how important they are to businesses and we use their expertise everyday in making our clients lives easier. Dominic Daley explains this much better than I could in his post here

✨ More than asking what you can do with Sibill as an SME, you should ask what you can't do. Sibill is one of the startups in our Investments portfolio, created by Mattia Montepara, Lorenzo Liguori, and Dario Prencipe and it acts like a "Swiss Army knife" for companies to seamlessly, quickly, and automatically manage their financial operations. To give you a better introduction to Sibill, we gave Mattia a call, and here’s what he had to say! 📞

We have something special on the #IsleofMan, a strong sense of community - that was an overarching theme that came through from tonight's panellists, and I like to think we exemplify that as Startup Grind Isle of Man, and provide a community for our islands (and visiting) #founders. Pivot point or course correction (thanks Shelley Langan-Newton) was the topic of tonight's event. Learnings, 💡Match your energy to the opportunity 💡 Create a safe space for innovation 💡 Don't underestimate the ask 💡 Some times work-life balance doesn't look like a 9 - 5, but prioritise wellness without compromise (with an accountability partner as needed) More insights coming soon in case you missed tonight's sell-out event. Thanks to Atla Group, Media Isle of Man, ELS, Jonathan Burton 📸, Noa, tonight's speakers Martin Hall (Atla Group), Jade Zorab (Amber Gaming) and Shelley Langan-Newton (SQR) and the #SGIOM team for continuing to invest in building and giving back to the islands #startup community. Save the date 📅 10 December, we're speaking to Founder & CEO of Continent 8 Technologies and it's going to be a goodie. Sign up to be the first to receive #event details: https://lnkd.in/gfVCywk.
