⛓ 𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝗱𝗼𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗼𝗺𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗸𝗶𝗹𝗹-𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗶𝗻 𝗮𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸? Everybody is talking about ransomware or has at least heard of it. While the concept behind it is rather simple (download malware -> infection -> system encryption / data exfiltration -> extortion), sometimes we generalize the term too much and forget about the fact that attack vectors, the actual malware used and the extortion methods can significantly vary between different ransomware families or criminal groups. However, to understand the general process or refresh the memory, the below infographic visually summarizes the basics very efficiently. 📣 Shout-out to SECPRO LLC for this great illustration of the ransomware kill-chain. #ransomware #cybersecurity #malware #phishing #informationsecurity
