After more than a decade of partnership with the National League for Nursing, we are proud to share the results of our collaborative work in providing structured mentoring for doctoral nursing students. NLN conducted focus groups with past NLN/Jonas Scholars and the data revealed two themes: 1) Being selected as a Scholar made students feel a sense of pride and that someone believed in them and their research. As one Scholar noted, "It really gave me an understanding that what I was planning to do for my project was seen as valuable to nursing education." 2) The mentoring support that Scholars received helped them to be successful in their future academic roles and was a valuable augmentation to their doctoral programs. Being a #JonasImpact Scholar also gave them a desire to mentor others and pass along the lessons they learned. We are honored to work with the National League for Nursing to invest in nurses seeking doctoral degrees who will address our nation's most pressing healthcare needs.
