In Guinea, PT Tianshan Alumina Indonesia has solidified its upstream bauxite resources and cost competitiveness by acquiring a local mining company. This acquisition grants the company priority access to mineral products, ensuring a stable supply of bauxite resources and procurement costs. The Guinea project, which commenced mining operations in 2024, aims to export bauxite to China to meet domestic alumina production needs, with an annual capacity projected at 5-6 million tons. Good news, 8 tons of C02 per ton, well below the threshold of 20 tons established by LME for "green nickel". Indonesia is then producing premium nickel. Tsingshan - Hua You's subsidiary, Huafei, in Weda Bay, is already producing more than 9 000 t of nickel per month in these green conditions. There will be another two green HPAL in Halmahera with one of it, expected to start second half of 2025. Indonesia, once again, has all the necessary to overflow nickel market, soaring above 75 % percent, with rising EV market or without, with LFP competitors or without. It is an unstoppable machine. This ambitious project will see the construction of a state-of-the-art alumina refinery alongside the development of a #bauxite mine in the Ashanti Region. A group of institutional #investors and #analysts evidenced that seeing truly was believing at this facility which is now at a run rate of around 20,000 tonnes per annum of #Tin in concentrate The onset of production at #Mpama South was a copy-paste of the processing set-up at Mpama North, which came online some 5 years ago. This looks set to rise, in our humble opinion, to maybe 25,000 tpa as optimization takes effect. Our first visit came to grief as it was planned for days before onset of the pandemic in 2020 and now the trip has finally been made. Back then we would have seen a nascent operation, now #Bisie is the largest tin mine outside #China with maybe 6-7% of global output and a stunning grade of over 4% that puts all Indonesian output in the grade shade. We reiterate our LONG rating on Alphamin Resources Corp (AFMJF) and raise our 12-month target price to CAD$1.70.
