Perspectives matter!! A great lesson from the 2022 ⚽️ World Cup 👇🏻👇🏻 Every time I look at this picture I change my mind . . . . sometimes I convince myself it’s in . . . other times I’ll firmly believe it’s out. So many elements will have influenced a fans perspective of this moment: ➡️ Where they were stood in the stadium when it happened ➡️ The replay angles they saw on the screen ➡️ Levels of support for the Japanese, German or Spainish team ➡️ Feelings about VAR Just like this moment as a fan - at work / business sometimes it’s impossible to look at moments in isolation without any bias. Previous experiences, and our assumptions inform our perspective and how we react to decisions and information. What we CAN do is improve our own reflexivity and strive to understand other people’s positions more clearly. This leads to us making better strategic decisions, becoming more complete leaders and generating more success❗️ #business #people #success #change #leaders

*Personal Celebration Post* 🥳🥳 History was made below 👇🏻 In HMRC we talk a lot about tax - but at the start of this week it was fantastic to be away from the office with colleagues representing the East Midlands in the 50th RCSL National Baksetball Tournament. 🏀 Since the start of the tournament, 1972, no Mens East Midlands team had won the tournament . . . Until this week 🏆🏆🏆 The Womens East Midlands team also repeated as back to back champions‼️ For me, having work life balance isn’t about how much time I spend with the people I work with - but am I investing that time in a health way that helps me grow as a person 🙌🏻🙌🏻 #team #worklifebalance #people #champions

When things go wrong it’s easier (and an absolute necessity‼️) to fail fast and innovate. But when you see success through applying the same approach it can be more difficult to challenge yourself, to think differently and avoid stagnation 🫠 Recently I completed, and achieved a distinction in (🥳🥳), the Organisation Design and Development practitioner programme (Lv.7) with Mayvin & the University of Chichester This has been a fantastic experience - improving my thinking and helping me reflect on how I want to ‘be brave’ and continue to refine my skills. Massive thanks to Seema Arora, Richard Hale, Shelly Hossain & Tony Nicholls for their guidance and thought provoking questions 🙌🏻🙌🏻 For Civil Servants in my network I couldn’t recommend the course more, well worth considering on your personal development journey 😁

Studying Theology and Religion at the University of Chichester was the springboard I needed to start a great career in the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) and become a part of the civil service. Another “Bring Your Daughter To Work Day” 🙌🏻 supporting the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) and being a part time parent teacher. I’m proud to support my DWP colleagues with the FANTASTIC work they are doing - but I’m also thankful for my new boss, my daughter Sophie, for keeping me on track and working hard.
