🌞 Working Abroad: Is It All Sunshine and Roses? 🌞 For the past few years, I've had the pleasure of working from Spain during August. It certainly has its perks—who wouldn't enjoy taking conference calls with a scenic view or a quick dip during lunch? Having two kids with two full-time working parents certainly has its challenges when work is the priority. But, like anything, it comes with its drawbacks. I'd love to hear your thoughts on working from abroad. What do you think works and what doesn't? One question that's been on my mind: Do employees get annoyed when their bosses work remotely? Do they feel it's unfair? I run my own business, so I'm always on call, and work never truly stops, that's my decision and I not complaining. But empathy is crucial—ensuring everyone feels part of a cohesive team, regardless of location, is key. Interestingly, many clients are now encouraging employees to be in the office 4-5 days a week. Would this change make you consider looking for a new job? The shift back to full-time office work is significant, and I'm curious if it aligns with your current work-life balance. ✔️ Flexibility ✔️ Team Cohesion ✔️ Work-Life Balance #WorkLifeBalance #TechIndustry

Balancing work with exploration ... presents challenges, especially while navigating vast time differences. Yet, setting the alarm for a 2:00 AM call or a networking session at 3:30 AM is a small price to pay for another country's rich experiences and beauty. I've discovered value beyond mere sightseeing—it's about rejuvenation and connections with people along the way. During yesterday's conversations, I heard tales of Antarctica food services, Ireland's charm, and Australia's allure, piquing future travel aspirations. Embracing flexibility in my work, particularly in merchant services and payroll, is more than just about business. Initially, I wasn't a fan of working remotely, but I've become more adept at it each year and found greater enjoyment. I've learned to make minor adjustments, like setting an early alarm, to optimize my productivity and make any place feel like my workspace. I enjoy my work and will continue because it enables me to see and travel more and provides the funding. Remote work has shown me its value, allowing me to thrive while embracing life's adventures. As I explore the world, I'm reminded that work is not only about passion but also about funding my adventures. I'm grateful for the job opportunities that allow me to pursue my dreams while ensuring each journey is enriching and sustainable. #thefamouswanakatree #WorkLifeBalance #RemoteWorkAdventures #TravelAndWork #GlobalConnections Photo credit Stacy Klone, New Zealand famous Wanaka Tree

I just took my first “𝙬𝙤𝙧𝙠𝙘𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣”, and here’s what I discovered: As the name suggests, a workcation is a “working vacation.” Workcations combine travel with remote work. Instead of working from the office or at home, you might be on the beach or in my case the mountains🏔️ Here's some unexpected benefits of taking a workcation: 1. You'll experience a surprising boost in productivity from radically changing up your work environment 2. You’ll be able to meet deadlines and keep work on track while exploring a new place 3. You’ll return home feeling refreshed and inspired from new experiences and cultures 4. If you value flexibility like me, you'll really feel like you're able to live your values While workcation is still a new term in my vocabulary, I'm certain that this trip will be the first of many because of all the unexpected benefits that came out of it. Have you ever taken a trip like this? Let me know what your experience was like in the comments! #worklifeharmony #flexiblework

🇮🇹 Buongiorno dall'Italia! 🇮🇹 The future of work is all about flexibility, and I'm fortunate to be part of a company that truly understands this through our 6 week work from ANYWHERE policy. 🙌🏾 This benefit is easily one of my favorites! Right now, I'm putting it to good use, spending the next two weeks solo traveling around Italy before celebrating one of my closest line sister's wedding on the Amalfi Coast at the end of the month! 😍 For me, this kind of flexibility is a game-changer and honestly a non-negotiable. It creates a perfect work-life balance and boosts my overall happiness. Being able to work remotely from different locations fuels my creativity and gives me a fresh perspective. Companies that offer creative remote work options like this are going to be the ones that attract and retain top talent. It's a win-win for everyone! Are you working for a company that prioritizes flexibility? Let me know in the comments!

As I am starting a work week in #Barcelona , Did you know that #Spain could be in the wrong time zone? Geographically aligned with Britain and Portugal, yet the clocks tell a different story. The current time zone affects not just how spaniards spend their days, but also their work-life balance, productivity levels, and international business relations. Studies have highlighted the potential benefits of Spain adopting a time zone that matches its geographical position. By doing so, we can improve productivity by ensuring work hours are more in sync with natural circadian rhythms. This could mean not just better health for workers, but also a more robust and competitive economy. Additionally, work-life balance is an issue many Spaniards grapple with. Aligned hours mean more daylight at the end of the workday, offering an improved quality of life and more time for family and leisure activities. With benefits spanning from personal well-being to economic advantages, isn't it time Spains considers the ticking of the clock? Reports have also underlined the value of synchronizing the time zone to facilitate smoother international business communications. Aligning Spain's clock with the UK and Portugal could enhance efficiencies and solidify its position in the global market. What do you think? Could a shift in time zone lead Spain not just to the right time, but also to a brighter future? Let's discuss the possibilities and advocate for a change if it promises a better tomorrow. Let's go back to the right time zone! #SpainTimeZone #WorkLifeBalance #Productivity #InternationalBusiness #Economy Antonio Monerris Tormo Andy Stalman Anna Gener Eva Vila-Massanas

Next week I am traveling to London 🇬🇧 Can't wait to explore and experience my favorite city in the world 🌃 Reflecting on this opportunity, I'm reminded of the importance of work-life balance. It's crucial for companies to support their employees in pursuing their passions outside of work 🌍 One aspect I'd like to highlight is the need for South African companies to consider granting leave in consecutive days 🌴 This approach allows employees to fully disconnect, recharge, and explore new horizons, fostering both personal growth and productivity 🌿 Here's to the future of remote work and the endless possibilities it brings 💥 #RemoteWork #WorkLifeBalance #TravelOpportunities

This is LinkedIn, so you’re probably expecting: - Me sat on a beach. - Talking about how I “remote work” - And all the amazing success that’s given me. But the truth is, that “Bali travel work-life culture” doesn’t work in the real world. Here’s why the beach is for a holiday, not your Tuesday morning work session ⤵️ LinkedIn has become a competition of who does remote work better: ➡️ Instead of working from an office, you work from home. ➡️ Instead of working from home, you work from a coffee shop. ➡️ Instead of working from a coffee shop, you work from a Greek Island. But let’s be real… Working with sand between your toes quickly becomes sand jammed in between your laptop. And who really wants to put 100% into their work when there is a tropical ocean in front of you? Trying to balance work and leisure in paradise often leaves you feeling like you are doing neither effectively. Because reality is… You can’t do real work while working on the beach. And you can’t fully relax on the beach while you’re working. 🤷♂️ So, it’s time to keep the two separate. Instead: Prioritise your well-earned time off. - To truly unwind. - To spend time with family. - To enjoy your surroundings. So you can come back to work refreshed and ready to tackle new challenges.

🫣 𝐌𝐲 𝐅𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐥𝐲 𝐯𝐬. 𝐕𝐚𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐃𝐢𝐥𝐞𝐦𝐦𝐚: Living away from my family, I constantly faced a dilemma: 🌍 Should I use my vacation days to explore new places, or 👨👩👧👧 visit my family in Germany? 𝘈𝘯𝘺𝘰𝘯𝘦 𝘦𝘭𝘴𝘦 𝘧𝘦𝘦𝘭 𝘮𝘦? 😄 When travel won, I felt guilty for missing out on precious family moments. On the flip side, when I chose family, I felt like I was missing out on adventures. 𝘕𝘰 𝘮𝘢𝘵𝘵𝘦𝘳 𝘸𝘩𝘢𝘵, 𝘪𝘵 𝘧𝘦𝘭𝘵 𝘭𝘪𝘬𝘦 𝘐 𝘸𝘢𝘴 𝘴𝘢𝘤𝘳𝘪𝘧𝘪𝘤𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘴𝘰𝘮𝘦𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘪𝘮𝘱𝘰𝘳𝘵𝘢𝘯𝘵. So, I tried squeezing in both - which just left me stressed and feeling like I was leaving before I even arrived. 😉 🙏 𝐓𝐡𝐞𝐧 𝐫𝐞𝐦𝐨𝐭𝐞 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐝 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠. Now, I can work from anywhere in Europe, meaning I no longer have to choose between family and travel. I visit my family more often and - probably most importantly - stay longer, finally enjoying daily life together again, 𝘯𝘰𝘵 𝘫𝘶𝘴𝘵 𝘢𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘦 "𝘷𝘪𝘴𝘪𝘵𝘰𝘳." And at the same time, I use my holidays to explore new places and completely switch off. ⚖️ 𝐈𝐭’𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐟𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐛𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐈 𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝 𝐧𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐞𝐯𝐞 𝐛𝐞𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐞. Sure, remote work has its challenges. But the freedom to enjoy both family and travel has made it all worth it. 👉 𝘞𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘢𝘣𝘰𝘶𝘵 𝘺𝘰𝘶? #MondayMotivation Work from home chronicles. Asides some of the general skills required to work from home like time management, collaboration, organisation, communication, self motivation, I would like to add #creativity. Work from home does not mean you must work from where you live, as this may get boring and eventually affect your productivity. We need to be creative about this e.g. you may choose to work away from your home sometimes - a work station, coffee shop/cafe, a library, a hotel lounge etc, so far you have the necessary things in place, good Internet connectivity, quiet environment so you can take work calls and meetings without any background noise, grab a drink and/or snack, meet people. Please share, in the comment section, your experiences on how you navigate working from home. PS: the content in the glass is not wine but unsweetened zobo, for those of you already thinking far. 😜 📸 Park Inn by Radisson one of my favourite spots.

"With Eigen X earning the title of "One of the Best Places to Work" for several years, one of the aspects that contribute to this recognition include everyone's understanding of your life outside of work from giving flexibility if you're sick or if someone in your family is sick, that you are able to have the flexibility to work from home, or to move things around as needed. This has been really helpful for me personally. Having an 18-month-old daughter. It's just been really life-changing for me, being able to switch around my schedule, as needed." --- #WorkLifeBalance #BestPlacesToWork
